Vocab/spelling homework:
Print out new spelling words- split into 3 groups?
Make memo of it to send home to parents.
Go over spelling words during class Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & spelling test
Friday.
Monday: write vocab words in a sentence

Tuesday: Look up words in dictionary

Living in a Community
Look at people on pg. 1- what might you think this
chapter is about?
Go over vocab words.
Go over lesson 1 - point out vocabulary. Ask
children if they dont know where to find
definitions of these words where do we look?

Ask children to draw a picture of what they are a
citizen of with a picture- have template printed

Go over short a short I sounds- do workbook pages

Have them focus on beginning/middle/end write
in their writers journal beginning/middle/end.
Have group re-tell the story and draw
picture/words with what happens.

Math:
Check lesson plans for math for this week.
Part 2 of personal narrative:
Go over what a personal narrative is with children
There is a beginning/middle/end
Write in 1st person
What is a paragraph? Paragraph is a group of
sentences that tells about one idea. Go over
statements/sentences. Do a sequence chart for
them and have them organize their ideas. Meet
with them individually while the rest write- if they
are done complete grammar notebook pages.

Review vocab words- practice book pg. 3


Spelling Words- do activity- print out letters to
spelling words- have children arrange themselves
to spell them person by person. Put a timer on it to
see how many they can get right.
(take a lot of time on this- if they decide to get
bored then take a break and move on to science.)
