5 Laws that protect the environment.

1.

RA 8749: Clean Air Act of 1999

This law aims to achieve and maintain

healthy air for all Filipinos. This is done by
reducing all potential sources of air
pollution like motor vehicles or industrial
plants that emit too much pollution into
the air and will give penalties to those
vehicles or factories that give out too
much air pollution.
Reaction: I feel that this law should
always be implemented because one of
the necessary resources our body needs is
oxygen, which is in the air, and the air in
our surroundings need to be clean to keep
ourselves healthy. If the air in our country
will be too polluted it can cause many
diseases that will affect our lives. Our air
in the Philippines has not been totally
polluted, but there are some large cities
that are showing signs of air pollution.

2.
RA 9275: Philippine Clean Water
Act of 2004
The law aims to protect the countrys
water bodies from land-based pollution
sources such as industrial, agricultural and
household activities. It provides an
integrated strategy that helps prevent or
minimize pollution of the water. The
Department of health will also formulate
guidelines to properly dispose of sewage.
Reaction: We need water for many things
in our daily lives so it is only right that
each one of us contributes to the
cleanliness of the water in our country,
and we should be responsible enough to
properly dispose our waste materials. So
that the water in our country stays clean.
Although there are many bodies of water

in our country that are polluted, we should

still try to keep our country clean.

3.
RA
6969:
Philippine
Toxic
Substances
and
Hazardous
and
Nuclear Waste Act
The act provides the legal framework for
the Philippines to control and manage the
importation,
manufacture,
processing,
distribution, use, transport, treatment and
disposal
of
toxic
substances
and
hazardous and nuclear wastes.
Reaction: Toxic substances should be
handled with extreme caution because
these substances can kill many people
and pollute the land if ever an accident
occurs due to the recklessness of the
companies that use these substances. It is
only right that this law should be enacted
so that we can keep our fellow Filipinos

and our land safe. There have been no

reports of toxic or nuclear accidents in the
country so it shows that the law is very
strict.

4.
RA 9003: Philippine Ecological
Solid Waste Management Act of 2000
It provides the legal framework for the
countrys systematic, comprehensive, and
ecological
solid
waste
management
program that shall ensure protection of
public health and the environment. In
short, it helps manage the solid wastes
that we throw away.
Reaction: As the population in the
country grows larger, more garbage is
thrown improperly which causes our
surroundings to be polluted. We should
properly throw our garbage in garbage
cans and practice segregation in our

country so that the Philippines will stay

clean and will have lesser chance to catch
diseases caused by pollution.

5.
RA 9729 Climate Change Act of
2009
RA 9729 aims to systematically integrate
the concept of climate change in the
policy formulation and development plans
of all government agencies and units, to
the end that the government will be
prepared for the impact of climate change.
Reaction: Climate change is affecting our
country slowly, and this law is aiming for
the preparation or the adaptation of our
country to the impacts of climate change,
and we should also prepare ourselves and
adjust to the effects of climate change.
