AIM / OBJECTIVE :

This Project aims at Developing a prototype based on the idea of using a intelligent
uav/drone for the rescue and strategy making purposes during fire emergencies. Usually
during Fire incidents the Firemen cant track down the people at different levels in the buring
building ,so inorder to help fire fighters track down people and for also get a view around the
building for finding exits through which victims can be rescued . Also prioritize among the
victims to be saved first in the building depending on the reach of fire to them and as well
track down the severity of the fire so that the ground officer could deploy more men. Using
all the labelled input data the uav can make decisions and suggests action plans for the
bringing the fire down and rescue people. And while no people are out in the building the uav
autonomously extinguishes the fire using spray nozzle.

TECHNICAL DETAILS:
The presumed design consists of a drone in a fire resistant casing . Using a Time of Flight
camera the depth of the buildings can be mapped and the thermal imaging technique helps
detect the people in the building . Using Ros for control and computer vision techniques for
detection and path planning , the uav can move autonomously . Using the labelled input data ,
with machine learning algorithms written in python the uav makes decisions calculating the
risks.With special attachments the uav can extingush fire using spray nozzle.

INNOVATIVENESS & USEFULNESS:

The Device is one of its kind and some of the features are:
1.

Tracking down the people caught in fire.

2.

Gets the view of the building for finding exits.

3.

Grades the risk of fire.

4.

Sprays extinguisher to extiguish fire.

5.

Suggests risk control measures.

MARKET POTENTIAL AND TARGET AUDIENCE:

As this is a used for rescue purposes, market potential for it makes no sense . There is no
financial motivations behind building this project. The main motivation is experimentation
and developing a world class device.As this is not a consumer device , the target audience are
fire safety services and departments.
