Zoologists have a love of animals

and those who work in the field are
usually physically fit.

As well as observing and studying

animals, zoologists may spend time
writing research articles and reports.

Zoologists can also be involved in

conservation, protecting endangered
animals and their habitats.

Zoologists study the habitats and

characteristics of animals and wildlife.

They observe animals both in their

natural habitats and in the laboratory in order to learn as much as possible about animal life.

Zoologists and wildlife biologists

commonly work together and with
other professionals, such as environmental scientists and hydrologists, in a research team.

Zoologists and wildlife biologists need a bachelors degree for
entry-level positions, but a masters
degree is often needed for advancement. A Ph.D. is necessary for independent research and for university
