THE LITTLE MAN

By Shannon Lislois
Synopsis

A dog will continue to bite you if you cut off its tail. Chop off its head and it will
cease to cause you trouble - Carlos Marcello aka The Little Man
The ten episode series would be a crime drama that follows the life of Carlos
Marcello, the mobster boss of the New Orleans crime family and his link to the
assassination of John F. Kennedy. Whilst his affiliation with the presidents death
was dismissed and not proven, the series will compliment the ideas of Sicilian
journalist Stefano Vaccara who is adamant that Marcello indirectly caused the death
of Kennedy.
The ten part series will follow both the lives of Carlos Marcello and his nemesis
Robert F. Kennedy between 1959 - 1963. RFK originally worked as the manager for
John F. Kennedys campaign into the U.S senate where he was then appointed the
U.S Attorney General and led his battle to counter the influence of mobsters,
specifically Carlos Marcello. The program will intertwine between the lives of the
two characters of how RFK was constantly determined to catch Marcello, whilst the
mobster was able to continue running a crime empire in Texas whilst dodging all
incriminations he was charged with. The two first historically met on March 24,
1959, where Robert F Kennedy tried to investigate the illegal activities of organised
crime, but invoking the Fifth Amendment he refused to awnser any incriminating
questions and with the assistance of the jury, was free to leave.
A major plot point would involve Marcellos involvement with John F Kennedy by
helping him achieve presidency with the assurance that he would allow the New
Orleans crime family to operate without government intervention. This vow would be
broken by JFKs brother Robert who became the 64th Attorney General with a
mantra to dismantle organised crime in America starting with Marcello. Events
would transpire until the eventual assassination of JFK from Marcellos hired
assassin Lee Harvey Oswald (whom was the son of Marcellos bookkeep). Oswald
would eventually be captured by officials where before a proper statement could be
told for his assassination of the president, he was shot by one of Marcellos
associates Jack Ruby.

This program would essentially be the hunt between cat and mouse as both parties
would desperately try and gain the upper hand on each other. Concurrently The
Little Man will take the audience on a journey through the conspiracy of the JFK
assassination through the criminal underbelly of New Orleans during the 1960s
according to author and journalist Stefano Vaccara.
