1.0 SYNOPSIS :
Electrical and instrumentation technology is a course that studies the basic knowledge
of electrical engineering in the context of applications in introduction to the basic
concepts of electricity which leads to DC circuits and analysis. Also taught in this
course are semiconductor electronic devices, simple AC circuit, transformers,
electrical motors and instrumentation, safety and electrical power transmission and
distribution.
2.0 COURSE OBJECTIVES :
Upon completion of this course, the students are expected to be able to:1. Describe the concept of circuit theory, transformers, electrical motors, electrical
measuring instruments and the processes in electricity transmission and
distribution, safety and the regulations.
2. Analyze the operation of circuit elements, transformers, motors and electrical
measuring instruments in different types of applications.
3. Develop and discuss the circuit elements arrangements, transformers circuit
arrangement and power regulation, electrical motor, electrical measuring
instruments and the processes in electricity transmission and distribution, safety
and the regulations.
3.0 METHODS OF INSTRUCTION :
