Section 1 - Introduction
This information should be read in conjunction with the all the APC guides
(candidates, counsellors, pathway).
It gives information of when and how to enrol, details of costs involved, the refund
policy and how to inform us of any change of circumstances.
For APC candidates doing structured training
For APC candidates doing preliminary review (no structured training)
For APC candidates not doing structured training or preliminary review
Section 2 - How to apply for candidates doing structured training
This information is for candidates that have an RICS accredited degree or are in the
process of completing one (part time or distance learning). You will be required to
complete some structured training depending on your experience.
Download the APC application form. Please ensure that the application is completed
in full and that all additional evidence is included. If you have an RICS accredited
degree you can enrol onto any APC pathway (e.g. having a BSc in Building
Surveying does not restrict you to the Building Surveying pathway).

chosen pathway www.rics.org/pathwayguides
Download the relevant APC templates www.rics.org/apctemplates depending
on your chosen pathway to record experience against relevant competencies
Obtain guidance/support from employer and counsellor (a professional
member MRICS or FRICS)
If your employer/counsellor requires additional support they can contact an
RICS Training Advisors www.rics.org/rta
Obtain sign off by a professional member (as per counsellor role) of the
competencies achieved, in order to be able to use this experience towards
the minimum of 400 days/2 years APC requirement
Following graduation- enrol onto APC when employed and pay the full
APC application fee (SGD526) plus current years subscription as detailed on
the application form
Include letter from your counsellor confirming when your work placement
started and finished and that you were working towards APC requirements
Complete a minimum of 1 year structured training, post-graduation of RICS
accredited degree (more may be required depending on when you started
and finished your work placement)

After recording a minimum 23 months APC requirement your counsellor will decide
when you are ready to apply for final assessment (in accordance with the final
assessment application and submission dates)

When you find yourself ready to come forward for the final assessment provided
that you have enrolled onto the RICS APC as a candidate you will be notified by
email of the submission deadline dates when there is an upcoming APC session
within your country/region. You may also visit our RICS Asia website
www.ricsasia.org for updates. Please ensure your preferred email address is
registered on www.rics.org.

Fees and subscriptions are to be paid in full. They are not paid pro-rata.
RICS membership subscription is due every year on 01 January.
When enrolment takes place before 1 October you will pay the current years
subscription in full and you will then be required to pay the following years
subscription when this becomes due, on 1st January.
When enrolment takes place after 1 October, your subscription fee will cover the
period from October to December of the current year and all of the following year.
Following election to professional membership, you will be required to pay full
election fees to include professional member subscription at the current rate, plus
upgrade fee (USD134).

period of 10 working days from the date your enrolment is processed by RICS. If you

Section 3 How to apply for candidates doing preliminary review (no
structured training)
This information is for APC candidates that either have a non-accredited degree + 5
years post graduation experience or membership of relevant professional body + 5
years post qualification experience. It should be read in conjunction with the
candidates guide and pathway guide.
Download the APC application form. Please ensure that the application is completed
in full and that all additional evidence is included.

The fee paid includes an online workshop, which you will be invited to, advising you
how to proceed as well as recorded workshop about the final assessment. You will
also have your submissions reviewed prior to final assessment.

Section 4 How to apply for candidates not doing structured training or
preliminary review
If you have an RICS accredited degree + 10 years experience then you are not
required to complete any structured training or submit for preliminary review.
Enrolment start dates
You can enrol at any time. Please download and complete the application form. You
will then be required to meet the required level of competency and have completed
20 hours of CPD before applying for final assessment. Enrolment and final
assessment are two separate processes.

All amounts payable in connection with the APC are exempt of VAT. If VAT
becomes applicable at any time, then RICS reserves the right to charge applicants

Section 5 Application for all
Please download the application form from www.rics.org/join or make a request to
achau@rics.org for a copy of the form. Please ensure that the application is
completed in full and that all additional evidence is included.
Section 6 Change in circumstances
Please contact RICS ricsasia@rics.org as soon as possible if:
You change employer - please give full details of new employer and
when you started work there.
You change your counsellor please give the full name and RICS
membership number of your new counsellor.
You want to change your pathway please ensure that you have
discussed this with your counsellor and employer before contacting
RICS.
