Thursdays are usually our letter of

the week show and tell day. This
Thursday we will be sharing items
starting with letter Aa.

Dear Parents,
I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Our Super stars are already showing much of the
learning they have gained so far and I am really so proud of them!
Literacy Inquiry:

We will be reading some great books this week. This week we will learn all about letter
Aa. Students will learn to name, recognize, trace and write the letter Aa.

Students will be creating an Apple craft.

This week we will also be introducing the role of the author and illustrator and learning
a song that teaches us what these jobs are.

Students will continue working on recognizing and writing their names through
multiple activities.

Math Inquiry:

We will be introducing Legos and number puzzles . We will be practicing counting

through different activities , for example counting The days we have been at school
and counting how many friends are at each center as well as other counting activities
counting numbers 0-10. We will be learning all about numbers 0 and 1. Students will
learn to recognize, trace and write these numbers through different activities.
Our shape for the week is the Square and our color for the week is Red.

Unit of Inquiry:

Learner Profile: Thinker, Communicator.

Our first Unit of Inquiry is How We Organize Ourselves.

Central Idea: Systems help us live and learn together.

Activities include : discussing WHY we organize our class in a certain manner.

The Students will continue exploring and understanding the words SYSTEMS and
Organization

Home Connection: Please read daily with your child. Please help your child write his/ her
name at home several times on a piece of paper and send it to school to share with the class.
