In a speech at the Bombay Chamber, Raghuram Rajan had highlighted that

India had the highest number of billionaires per trillion dollars of GDP after
Russia. Further adding Rajan had said "three factors are land; natural
resources, and government contracts or licenses which are the predominant
sources of the wealth of our billionaires. And all of these factors come from
the government." To make such resources and policy available, the
companies by hook or crook support the political parties by donating huge
sum of money and gain pounds of flesh whence policy are made in their
business. To bring transparency in the functioning of parties specially
focusing on financial transparency and accountability, Right to Information
Act is an instrument will strengthen the process.
It has been argued by political parties that they are not public authority
because they are not established under constitution or any enactment by
Parliament. But the parties consist of citizen of India who has decided
fraternity assuring the dignity of the people of India who pays the taxes.
Political parties perform public activities thus maintaining the purity of
electoral process is of utmost importance.
