reptilian!?Therearemanyunansweredquestionsastojusthowthesubsurfaceworldwasused,orexactlywhatpartitplayed,in
relationtotheseancientsubterraneanraces,butthefollowingaccountmayexplainsomeofthesemysteriesandhelpustoseethe
entire'picture'moreclearly.
SomeyearsagoamanbythenameofRalphB.FieldssubmittedthefollowingaccounttoAMAZINGSTORIESMagazine(Dec.1946
issue,pp.155157),withtheassurancethatitwastrueandactuallyhappened.However,wemustbecautiousofeverytaleofthis
typewhichmightbepresentedyetatthesametimenotdenythepossibilityofithappeningaswell.Wewillleavethereadertodraw
theirownconclusionsconcerningtheaccount,whichwequoteasfollows:
"Inbeginningthisnarrativeandtheunexplainedeventsthatbefellmyfriendandmyself,Ioffernoexplanation,nordoIeven
professtoofferanyreason.Infact,Ihaveyettofindacluethatwill,eveninpart,offeranyexplanationwhatever.Yetasitdid

fourdayjauntupthemountain.
"Iguesswecoveredabouttenortwelvemilesonthethirddayanditwasfastapproachingtimetobegintolookforaplacetospend
thenightandthethoughtwasnotveryamusingasithadturnedalittlecolderandwewerewellover7,000feetabovesealevel.
"Wesoonfoundashelteredplacebeneathalargeoutcropofrockandsetaboutmakingacamp.AsIwasalwaysthecookandJoe
thechoreboy,IbegangettingthingsreadytofixussomegrubandJoebegandiggingaroundforsomedeadscrubbrushtoburn.I
hadthingsallreadyandlookedaroundforJoeandhisfirewood.ButIcouldseenosignsofhim.Ibegancallingforhimandhesoon
cameintosightfromaroundtheveryrockwhereweweremakingourcamp.AndIknewhewaslaboringundersomegreat
excitementandhisfacewaslituplikeaChristmastree.
"Hehadfoundacave.Theentrancewasontheothersideofthatveryrock.Hewasallforexplorationrightaway.ButIarguedthat
wehadbetterwaittillmorning.Buthearguedthatinacaveitwasalwaysnightandwewouldhavetouseflashlightsanyway,so
whatwouldbethedifference?Well,wefinallydecidedthatwewouldgiveitatleastaonceoverafterwehadabitetoeat.
"Itwasn'tmuchtocallacaveatfirstasithadaverysmallentrance,butbackabout20feetitwidenedouttoabout10feetwideand
aroundeightfeethigh.Anditdidreachbackaconsiderabledistanceaswewouldseeatleast100yardsanditappearedtobendoff
totheleft.Thefloorslopedslightlydown.

hadbeenusedforalongtimeasapathorroad.Thewallsandceilingofthecaveseemedtobecutlikeatunnel.Itwassolidrockand
weknewthatnoonewouldcutatunnelthereoutofrockastherehadbeennosignofminingoperations(tailings).Andtherockin
thewallsandceilingwasruntogetherlikeithadbeenmelted.Orfusedfromagreatheat.

closelyenoughtodeterminejustwhatitwas.IdoubtverymuchifIcould.Ithadaseatinthefrontdirectlybehindaheavy
dashboardaffairandtherewasadialshapedinasemicirclewithfiguresormarkingsonit.Ihadnottheslightestideawhatthey
stoodfor,buttheywereverysimpletoremember.Iftherewasamotor,itwasintherear.AllIcouldseewastwohorseshoeor
magnetshapedobjectsthatfacedeachotherwiththeroundpartstotheoutside.Whenthisthingwasinoperation,abrilliantgreen
arcseemedtoleapbetweenthetwoandtocontinuetoglowasitwasinoperation.Theonlysounditgaveoffwasahumorbuzzthat
soundedlikeabatterychargerinoperation.
"Theseatinthefrontwasverywide.Theonlymethodofoperationwasablacktearshapedobjectwhichhungfromthepanelbya
chain.Oneofthesemensittinginthemiddletookthisthingandtouchedthesharpendtothefirstfigureontheleftsideofthedial.
"Whenhetouchedthefirstfigure,thecontraptionseemedtomovealmostoutfromunderus.Butitwasthesmoothestandquietest
takeoffIeverexperienced.Weseemedtofloat.Nottheslightestsoundorvibration.Andafterwehadtraveledforaminutehe
touchedthenextfigureonthedialandourspeedincreasedatanalarmingrate.Butwhenhehadadvancedtheblackobjectover
pastthecenterofthedial,ourspeedincreaseduntilIcouldhardlybreathe.Ican'tbegintoestimatethedistancewehadtraveledor
ourspeed,butitwasterrific.Thetwohorseshoeobjectsintherearcreatedagreenlightthatsomehowshonefaraheadofus,lighting
upthecavernforalongway.Isoonnoticedablacklinerunningdownthecenterofthecavernandourinnermountaintaxiseemed
tofollowthat.
"Idon'tknowhowlongwecontinuedourmadride,butitwaslongenoughforustobecomeusedtotheterrificspeedandwehad
justaboutovercomeourfearofsomekindofwreckwhenwewerethrownintoanotherspasmoffear.
"Anothermachineofthesametypewasapproachingusheadon.Icouldseethatourcaptorswereverynervous,butourspeed
continued.Astheothermachinebecamecloserourspeedsloweddownveryfastandwecametoasmoothstopabouttwofeetfrom
thefrontoftheothermachine.

manyevilpeopleherewhocreatemanyunpleasantthingsforbothusandthesurfacepeople.Theyaresafebecausenooneonthe
surfacebelievesusorthem.ThatiswhyIamtellingyouthis.Noonewouldbelievethatweexist.Wewouldnotcare,butthereare
manythingsherethattheouterworldmustnothaveuntiltheyarereadytoreceivethem,astheywouldcompletelydestroy

utterlydestroyingthemselves.Thiscouldbeduetothefactthattheir'controllers'(theserpentraces?)realizethedangersofsuch
technologyanddesiretoconquerwithoutdestroyingthatwhichtheyareconquering.Also,manalreadyhasenough'technology'in
theformofnuclearweaponry,etc.,todestroyhimselfmanytimesover,butnouseaddingfueltothefireastheysay.Asforthese
undergroundorsubsurfacepeople,theyareapparentlypartofaraceorraceswhodiscoveredtheserecesseseitherhundredsor
thousandsofyearsago,orperhapsdifferentgroupswhodiscoveredthisnetworkthroughoutthisentireperiodoftime.The
'horlocks'seemtobeagroupworkingunderanevilinfluence,forinstanceaswe'vesaidpossiblythatoftheserpentrace,since
therehavebeendocumentedCONNECTIONSuncoveredbetweentheMIBandtheSerpentRaceaswehaveseenandwillcontinue

beensomewhohavesuggestedthatahumanbodycould,throughadvancedtechromancyortechnologicalnecromantic
manipulation,be"killed",it's"soulmatrix"removed,andrevivedasanoperatingorganismcontrolledbyanothernonphysical
entityorabiocomputer.Asstrangeasitmaysound,thiswouldbeahitechversionoftheancient'zombie'legendswhich
supposedlyinvolvethepossessionofahumanbeingbyademonicentityafterthatpersonhas'died',orthehypnotizingofaliving
soulviadrugs,etc.,intoaperpetualcatatonicstateofcontrolandservitudetoasorcerer,etc.Couldthisexplainwhysomeoftheso
called'MenInBlack'appeartobemoremechanicalthanhuman,spoutingoffmonotonephraseslikeaprogrammedcomputer?We
wouldsuggesthoweverthatsuchhorribleperversionsofnature,iftheyinfactexist,wouldnotincludeALLoftheentitieswhomight
beclassifiedundertheterm'MIB'orMenInBlack,whohavebeendescribedasbeinganythingfromgovernmentsilencerstoalien
humanstoimplantedhumanstocybernizedhumanstoandroidstoreptilianlikebeingsattemptingtopassthemselvesoffashumans.
Perhapsthiswholegamutof'alien'entitiesjustmentionedareinvolvedtogetherinthedraconiancontrolscenario!?
Wewouldsuggestthatifa"human"orevena"humanhybrid"orhubridstillretainssomesemblanceofahumansoul,theremust
beawayofbreakingthemental"control"ofoversuchasoulthatmaybecaptivetoamalevolentpower,ifthatsouliswilling,
ratherthanbykillingtheminordertosubduetheirinfluence.TheRalphFieldsaccountreferredtoSEVERALinhabitedcaverns,
obviouslyconnectedwiththisundergroundsubwaysystem.Also,thefactthatthe'horlocks'woresurfaceclothingwouldindicate
thattheyprobablyoperatejointlybelowandaboveground,mixingwiththeinhabitantsoftheupperworldasKeelandothershave
alleged.
OthershavedescribedstrangeactivitiessurroundingMt.Lassen,suggestingthatthisareaISinfacta"battleground"between
benevolentandmalevolentpowers.Somehavestatedthatthereisan"alien"atmosphereabouttheplace,othershavedescribed
strange"voices"whichseemtocomefromnowhere,whilestillothershavedescribed"showers"orrocksranginginsizefromsmall
pealikepebblestobasketballsizestonesinafewcases.This'might'resultfromvolcanicactivity,thenagain,itmightnot.

reptilians(whomight,withsomealterations,beabletopassthemselvesoffashumans?)orreptoidsthatareapparentlyextremely
dangerousandthreatening.Infact,thereareotheraccountsthatsuggestthatthehumansized,andlarger,sauroidsabsolutely
despisehumanityandunlikethesaurianGrayshavebeenseentoexpressanger,hatred,impudenceandanalmostdemonic
contemptforthehumanrace.AlthoughtheGrays'"enmity"againstthehumanraceisontheotherextremefromthatofthe
Reptoids',andconsistsofemotionlessinsensitivityandindifferencetohumanlifeorsuffering,itcanbejustasdestructiveto
