Descrizione / Description
The purpose of this document is to inform the Field about the potential problem which could happen
to the d-Color MF222Plus belonging to a specific range of the Serial Numbers.

Background
Due to a problem of molding of the "Sub Hopper Transfer Screw", the shape of the shaft of the screw
is deformed.
A certain number of the d-Color MF222Plus which are installed in field have this screw.

Symptom
It may happen that after having printed 10K or 30K pages since installation of the MFP, Abnormal
Low Toner Density Error with Error Code C2551 / C2553 / C2555 / C2557 occurs.

Cause
The deformation of the screw causes toner to leak from toner seal to the bushing of the transfer
screw, thus the torque becomes larger and causes that the transfer screw rotates not sufficient ,
wherefore toner cannot be replenished normally.
This causes the "Abnormal Toner Density" problem with Error Code C2551 / C2553 / C2555 /
C2557 occurs.

9. Replace the 4 Bushings

Location of the Bushings

In case you cannot easily remove the bushing take a screw driver, and carefully remove the
bushing with the help of the screw driver.

The two pictures should give an indication how you can identify a bushing which has been located
at a deformed transfer screw, means if you experience once of the error codes C2551 / C2553 /
C2555 / C2557 and the bushing looks like shown in the right picture, then you most
probably are dealing with a deformed transfer screw.

If the bushing looks like shown in the left picture then the cause is different
