CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS

COLLEGE OF TEACHER EDUCATION
SOCIETY OF BIOLOGY MAJORS

PREAMBLE
We, the bonafide members of the Society of Biology Majors imploring the aid of
Almighty God in order to build an effective worthwhile society under the democratic role of
government.

ARTICLE I
NAME AND DOMICILE
Section 1

This organization shall be known as Society of Biology Majors. The office of the
club is located at the College of Teacher Education building of Cagayan State
University at Lal-lo.

ARTICLE II
DECLARATION OF OBJECTIVES
Section 1

To establish collaboration among members.

Section 2

To discover and enhance hidden talents among its members in regard to the
activities of the club.

Section 3

To develop camaraderie among its members.

Section 4

To help prepare efficient and dignified professionals in the field of science.

Section 5

To support the administration in the implementation of plans and policies as

regard to discovery and conservation of animal and plant resources in the campus.

ARTICLE III
MEMBERSHIP AND MEMBERSHIP FEES
Section 1

Students who are enrolled in BSEd Biology Major shall automatically be

members of the club.

Section 2

Students who are not enrolled in BSEd Biology Major but are willing to join
the club can be accommodated.

Section 3

The official members of the organization shall be required to pay twenty-five

pesos (Php 25.00) as their membership fee.

Section 4

Members shall be obliged to pay membership fee annually.

Section 5

Membership shall only be terminated upon graduation from the course, dropping
or transferring to other learning institution.

Section 6

Payment of membership fee shall be collected by the treasurer during the

enrolment time.

ARTICLE IV
OFFICERS OF THE CLUB

Section 2

Each of the above mentioned officers shall hold office for one year.

Section 3

The term of office of each officer shall commence immediately after his election
by the biology members in the assembly.

Section 4

A faculty adviser shall be appointed by the President simultaneously with the

officers and similar tenure of the office.

ARTICLE V
QUALIFICATION / FUNCTION OF OFFICER
Section 1

The officer of the organization in general shall give the following qualification:
a. Must be a bonafide student of the College of Teacher Education Department
BIOLOGY MAJOR at CSU Lal-lo.
b. Must possess leadership capability and intellectual power
c. Must show dedication and interest toward advancement of knowledge and
skills among the youth.
d. Must be able to preside over meetings in the absence of the office of higher
rank.

Preside in all meeting of council assembly

Appoint the chairman of various committees in the club.
Attend club meetings.
Help implement memos and directives of the school administration.
Exercise other function as may be determined by law.
The President shall come from the junior or senior class of the current school
year.

Preside in every legislative meeting

Preside the meeting in absence or incapability of the President.
Assist the President in administering the affairs of the club.
Perform other duties as may be directed.

THE SECRETARY
a. Keep an accurate record of the minute of the meeting of the assembly
b. Keep an accurate record of the attendance in Society of Biology Majors
activities. (Program, class work, etc.)
c. Prepare formal communication of the club.

Section 5

THE REPRESENTATIVES
a. See to it that the students rights are being safeguarded.
b. Sponsor projects and activities that enable to increase the students
participation to both academic and co-curricular development.
c. Initiate/spearhead projects and activities designed for further development of
the students potentials on their specialize field of interest.
d. Implement projects and form task force addressed at giving solution problems.

THE ADVISER
a. Help audit all funds of the organization every after semester.
b. Perform other duties as may be directed.

ARTICLE VI
ELECTION OF OFFICER

Candidate of the different elective position shall be elected by the majority of

the members of the assembly.
The election of the office shall be done through nomination and rising of hands or
standing.
The election shall be held on the first month of the school year.

ARTICLE VII
Section 1

Regular meetings shall be held every last Friday of the month.

Section 2

Special meetings shall be called by the President when the need arises.

Section 3

The present majority of the members shall constitute a quorum.

Section 4

Parliamentary procedures shall be used to facilitate transaction of business and to

avoid delay on the deliberation of issues.

Section 5

This constitution and by-laws shall take effect after its ratification by its
members thus needing a majority votes.
