Classroom Rules and Procedures
I.

Introduction
a. Rules and procedures are fundamental in life. We follow rules and procedures in
our daily lives for things such as approaching a traffic light, starting and driving a
car, and writing a letter. There are also rules and procedures for this classroom.
These rules and procedures ensure a positive atmosphere in the classroom. They
contribute to a controlled and learning environment for everyone.

top margin of your paper.
V.

Extra Credit
a. Extra credit will be given at the beginning of the six weeks. Anyone may turn in
extra credit.

Getting your attention

a. There will be times when I need everyones undivided attention. When I need
everyone to stop talking and pay attention to me, I will quietly say Quiet
please, quiet please, and quiet please. At this time, I will expect everyones
attention by the third repetition.
b. This procedure should take no more than ten seconds

VII.

Procedure for the End of Class and Dismissal

a. Before the bell rings, everyone should: be sitting quietly in his/her assigned
seat, have all materials gathered, and be waiting for the teacher to dismiss the
class. Under no circumstances should students be gathered around the door
before the bell.

Restroom Procedures
a. You will receive two bathroom passes per six weeks. YOU WILL NOT BE
ALLOWED TO LEAVE CLASS WITHOUT A PASS, NO EXCEPTIONS.
b. Only one student at a time may leave the classroom

you use them to go to the vending machines, to wander the halls, or to go to a
