E-LEARNING CENTRE FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION

20.1.1

Objectives
(a)

E-learning refers to the use of electronic media, information and

communication technologies in education. E-learning is broadly
inclusive of all forms of educational technology in learning and
teaching. E-learning is suited for distance learning which becomes
flexible learning and make a big difference in education. The centre
would create e-resource facility to impart technical education (Engg.,
Architecture, Pharmacy, Applied Arts etc.) at all level. The aim is to

AICTE approved institutions/ AICTE approved University Departments.

Institute/ University Departments must be in existence for at least five
years.

Institute/ University Departments should have ample built-up
accommodation with proper infrastructure of its own to start the ELearning
DurationCentre.

Limit of Funding
Maximum funding Rs. 50 Lakh
Disbursement of the Funds
35% of the funds shall be utilized for non-recurring expenditure for
purchase of items required for functioning of the E-Learning Centre
such as computers and networking hardware.
10% of the total fund could be utilized as honorarium for support
staff engaged and 55% of the total fund could be utilized for
maintenance, subscription towards professional & technical journals
and
books. fund will be released at the initial stage after

20% of the sanctioned fund will be released in equal installments
over the next two years after receipt of feedback, attendance,
utilization certificate (UC) and other supporting documents from the

Processing Methodology:
The proposal shall be assessed by an expert committee constituted as
follows:

member expert committee not below the rank of Associate
Professor.
At
least two members among the experts shall be from the concerned
stream.
Terms and Conditions
The E- Learning Centre shall have a Co-ordinator to oversee the
functioning of the centre and shall be responsible for its proper
functioning.
The E-Learning centre must have at least one IT qualified faculty for

The E-Learning Centre should have a carpet area of at least 15002500 sq.ft. for installing adequate number of computer with other
peripherals with facility for printing, scanning, networking.
