Modern Atomic Theory Electron Configuration and Orbitals:

Atoms are mostly empty space with a dense, positively

charged nucleus and a negatively charged cloud. Made up of
protons, neutrons, electrons.
-Law of Conservation of Mass: Mass cant be created or
destroyed
-Law of Definite Proportions: A given compound always
contains the same proportion of elements by mass
-Law of Multiple Proportions: When two elements form a
series of compounds, the second element that
combines with one gram of the first element can be
expressed in small whole number ratios.
Daltons Atomic Theory
All elements are made of atoms
Atoms of elements are the same
A compound always combines with the same atoms in
the same relative whole
Chemical reactions change compounds only, not atoms
