Supporting the work Bible Translation in Papua New Guinea

Fall 2016

DRIGGERS DAYS
Encounter 2016 - Being Real in an Unreal World

Once a year, the Youth Ministries department organizes a spiritual retreat for grades
9-12 of Ukarumpa International School called Encounter. Marty gladly took on this
responsibility as the director several months ago. However, it was just 15 days before
the event that we were notified the speaker would be unable to attend! The Lord made
it quite evident that He was pressing Marty beyond his comfort zone of organizing the
event and into the role as speaker, directly impacting the students lives. We are so
glad that the Lord accomplishes His will in His own perfect way (even when it terrifies
us a little). By the grace of God and the hard work of many volunteers, the five day
event went without any complications. God used Marty in a real and powerful way.
What a blessing it is to be trusted by God to minister to this student body.

Marty will continue in the role of Youth Ministries

director and Fleet Manager. After the Christmas
break these will be his only job roles. Please pray for
the individuals needed to take over the additional
roles he is continuing to fill until then as well as his
work load. Sara, alongside her incredible teen sta
(including Miriam as a treasurer), continue to enjoy
blessing the community through Burger Nights and
-ISAIAH 46:10 NLT
managing the Teen Centre. Miriam and Jade rocked
out the first term of grades 11 and 6 and continue to
enjoy life here in Ukarumpa. Miriam looks forward to basketball in term two after
playing touch rugby in term one. Jade is excited for Sports Day (an annual track
and field event) that will happen in a few short weeks. Taylor and Tia are doing
well at Liberty, working hard to press through college life And we all are
counting down the days until their arrival here in Papua New Guinea in
December!

Everything I
plan will come
to pass, for I do
whatever I
wish.

Its hard to find the words to explain to you how miraculous it has been to have
our hearts passion of furthering the work of Bible translation paired with the
ability to directly be a part of ministering to missionary kids in our community.
We have settled into a place of great joy and fulfillment in our roles here. We
extend the most sincere gratitude to all of you who partner with us each month
through prayer and finances, enabling us to be a part of Gods incredible work
here in this beautiful country that we continue to fall deeper in love with. We
trust in God to richly repay you all as we never could!
