ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTIONS 64 AND 65

AUTHORISATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNS AND SPECIAL DIRECTIONS -

ABERDEEN CITY COUNCIL - CONTROLLED PARKING ZONES -
DELINEATION OF PARKING BAYS

The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers under Sections 64 and 65 of

the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other powers enabling them
in that behalf, for the purpose of delineating parking bays on public roads
within Aberdeen City Council area hereby:-

1. authorise the placing at or within the vicinity of appropriate sites within

Aberdeen City Council area of traffic signs consisting of road markings
(hereinafter referred to as "the authorised markings") conforming as to size,
colour and character with that shown on the attached plan marked Scottish
Executive Transport Division Plan No. ZFT/1/1 - AC26; and

2. direct, without prejudice to any statutory provision to the like effect, that
it is a condition of this authorisation that the placing of the authorised marking
at or near the said site shall continue to have effect only until such day as may
be appointed by one month's notice given by the Scottish Ministers in writing
to the traffic authority for the removal or alteration of the authorised marking
and on that day the said authorisation shall, without prejudice to the giving of
any further authorisation or direction, cease to have effect; and

3. direct that, notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in the

preceding paragraph, the authorised markings shall be retained for no longer
than 5 years from the date of this authorisation during which time the
authorised markings shall be systematically replaced by prescribed markings
to diagram 1028.4 of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions
2002 (SI 2002 No. 3113).

The provisions of Regulation 12(6), Directions 7, 24(1), 25 and Schedule 17,

item 12 of the aforementioned Regulations and General Directions shall apply
to the authorised markings in the same manner as they apply to the marking
shown in diagram 1028.4 in Schedule 6 to the said Regulations.
