This document describes a student's tendency to lose motivation for their studies as the semester progresses. It identifies several factors that contribute to this decline, including uncontrolled commitments that cut into study time, personal problems, increasing distractions, and procrastination. The student predicts this pattern will likely repeat, with motivation dropping after midterms if their initial results are good enough to pass courses. To control this, the student proposes setting goals, giving themselves incentives to study, and creating a schedule to manage their time and commitments.

cutting due to either own leisure and/or other commitments, personal problems
Motivation to excel in studies
plummets downward as a semester goes on
Too much distractions and
procrastination
PREDICTION (When will it happen again?)
(Can it be changed?)
Just after midterms, if I get
especially good results, Ill start becoming overconfident and would exert less effort on studies.
All three bullets can be
interrelated. As the semester goes on further towards the end, I usually lose motivation to study, especially if I have good enough results the earlier half to help pass course/subject. Distractions start to pile up and would only magnify the bad habits
CONTROL
I would need to set a goal in
mind, and give myself more incentive to do better in my studies. There were instances in the past that I was able to motivate myself through this method.
Give myself a proper
schedule for things I need to do. This will ensure that I manage my time wisely while still being able to relax when I want to.
