Introduction
This Assessment & Selection simulation offers the opportunity to work through exercises, materials
and processes used by graduate recruiters. It also provides the opportunity to complete the University
of Lincoln `Hire Me Programme 2016` successfully.
Location
You are invited to attend an Assessment Centre at the Enterprise building on Friday 7th October 2016.
You should report to Reception. There are two Assessment Centres commencing at 0900 and 1300
and you will be advised which one to attend.
The Assessment Centre is scheduled to finish at approximately 1200 and 1600 respectively.
Dress Code
It is recommended that you approach the assessment centre as though it were an employers event
by wearing appropriate business dress.
Assessors
You will be introduced to your assessors on the day of the assessment centre. It is likely; you will be
assessed by different assessors for each exercise.
Preparation
You are required to complete two exercises prior to the assessment centre.
1. You are invited to complete a pre-assessment centre survey. The survey will be used to gauge
your understanding, experience and confidence of applying to the Graduate Job market.
Results will be shared with the University with all respondents remaining anonymous. <link>
A second survey will be sent to you approximately six to eight weeks after you have completed
the workshop to measure your progress. The link will be sent by email.
2. Prepare a five minute presentation which will be conducted individually. The brief was
cascaded on Monday 3rd October during the `Hire Me` induction.

The Schedule
You will be presented with a schedule on the day of the assessment which will confirm the order in
which you will complete the exercises and the deadline and timings for each. You will also be given
instructions before each exercise by your assessor.
You will complete the following exercises:
Presentation 5 minutes follow by up to 5 minutes of questions
Group Exercise 50 minutes
Interview 10 minutes
Feedback reports will be created highlighting areas of strength and development and will be cascaded
week commencing Monday 10th October 2016.
You are congratulated for taking part in such an exercise. The assessment creates a safe environment
for you to respond to typical techniques presented by employers. Please approach the exercises
positively and you will gain maximum development from them.
