THE STORY OF FATHER OF FAITH, ABRAHAM

Teachers to read bible scripture: <Gen 12:1-9>

Children to memorize bible scripture: <Gen 12:1>
[Must explain: “ that place” was the place where Jesus revealed Himself to Abraham]

Recap
Children, last week, we saw how all the people in this world who did not know Jesus were being
confused by God. After people were made confused, they could no longer hear God and thus lost
all the blessings and were bound by many problems. Today, the people in this world are like that,
they do not know God and Jesus and are living in a lot of problems.

Introduction
In such a world, God called a person, named Abraham (keep emphasizing this name).
In the past, Abraham was also like the people of this world; he did not know God and
was living in many problems. However, one day, God said to him, “leave this world to go
where Jesus is. I want to solve all your problems, I want to bless you, I want all the
peoples to be blessed through you.” Abraham believed God and therefore he is called
“Father of Faith”.

1. Abraham heard God telling him to leave this world, to go to where Jesus is. He
believed and followed God!
1) Like Abraham, when we were born to this world, we do not know God and do not
know Jesus, right?
2) However, one day, God came to find us! God says, Jesus loves us forever, and
tells us not to be together with this world but to go to where Jesus is! Right?
[Confirm with each and every child: God tells us this through which person?]
3) As a result, we believed in God! Therefore, Jesus is in my heart today! Qns:
Then, how do I know that Jesus is in my heart? [Ask them] Ans: Jesus already
came in, that is why we like to visit Jesus’ home today, we like to listen to stories
about Jesus, we like to pray, we hope that our parents, brothers, sisters, friends
all know Jesus, etc.
Conclude: Therefore, children, we are like Abraham; we have heard and believed
God.

2. Because Abraham went to where Jesus is, God said Abraham was the most
blessed, he believed in God!
1) Why was Abraham the most blessed? It was because he heard God’s voice.
[Let the children know that it is the greatest blessing if they can hear God’s voice
through their parents/ teachers] Because only those people chosen by God can
hear God’s words.
2) Why was Abraham the most blessed? It was because God always led him. [Let
the children know that because God loves us forever, He will definitely lead us
forever]. Therefore, when we obey God, God will bless us. When we do not listen
to Him, God will discipline us (e.g. unhappy, sick, fearful, beaten by parents, etc)
for our own good.

3) Why was Abraham the most blessed? It was because God wanted to use him
to bless all the peoples. [Let the children know that because Jesus is forever
with us to bless us, we are therefore the only ones who can bless people].
Because we who know Jesus are like little “preachers”. Therefore, only we can
evangelize/ share the gospel with others and bring them to know Jesus.

3. Because Abraham went to where Jesus is, God said no problem could
overcome him, and he believed God!
1) Those who go to Jesus will never have any more problems because they already
have eternal lives and therefore have eternal hope. [Ask everyone: Am I sure
that Jesus loves me, and when I die, I will be together with Jesus? If they are
doubtful, help to clear any misunderstanding]
2) Those who go to Jesus will never have any more problems because God’s
angels are protecting us daily. Therefore, if only we believe that God is always
with us, we need not fear, need not be anxious, need not be angry and need not
quarrel with others.
3) Those who go to Jesus will never have any more problems because God’s
angels are helping us daily. Therefore, if only we obey God, not only will we not
have problems daily, but we can also lead many people to know Jesus. [Children,
is that your wish?]
