Many people do not know what refugees are, refugees are people that leave there home to
another country because of a disaster or there in danger. The United States holds about 85,000
dated back in 2015. Also, it was announced that the United States accepted 10,000 refugees from
Syria. These refugees were all placed all over the United States and there are even some in
Houston. The 1 million refugees from Syria will be staying the Galveston Bay Estuary and we
thought it would be an efficient area because it contains water, food and shelter for 1 million
people.
The status of natives societies before European contact was that they were nomadic,
hunting and defending themselves with stone tools, clubs, and spears. These tools were at times
tipped with well-crafted, fluted stone points. Archaic peoples also began to develop more
specialized knowledge of their local environments and the animals and plants that lived there.
American Indians during this period did begin to establish trade and migration routes that
brought the native peoples of the Carolinas in contact with other bands and tribes. Europeans
carried a hidden enemy to the Indians, they brought new diseases. Native peoples of America had
no immunity to the diseases that European explorers and colonists brought with them. They had
diseases like smallpox, influenza, measles, and even chicken pox proved deadly to American
Indians. Europeans were immune to these diseases, but Indian people had no immunity to them.
Some things that are recommended for the refugees from Syria who are coming to the Galveston
Bay Estuary is, to not bring any valuables along because we dont want any thievery, conflicts
with other refugees in our base. Also, we recommend to bring his or her blankets because we
might not have enough. One last thing is that the refugees should be comfortable with tight
quarters because they might have to sleep with multiple people.

Sustainable development connects to my thesis because they both explain how our space
for the refugees has significant number or resources. In one of my annotated bibliographies it
states Pribeanu defines sustainable development as a transformation process having as
objective the efficient usage of natural resources. This quote supports my main point about how
it is compared to my thesis. The quote is explaining that nature of a location has an objective of
resources. The reason I think that the Galveston estuary has many resources is because of human
impact. I think that everything is what it is because of human impact. So as these points connect
to my thesis statement we thought it would be an efficient area because it contains water, food
and shelter.
Demographic theory is when it argues that population growth is inextricably tied to a
society's level of technology, my thesis statement relates to this point by mentioning how our
space can only provide for about 1 million people. In one of the bibliographies about
Demographics it says Murtin talks about how demographic transition reduced fertility rates, and
population growth in almost all regions in the world. This evidence relates to my thesis because
demographic transition could have an effect on why the space can only support an amount of
people. It can probably affect animal fertility. Also, it affects plant growth and how dirty the
water can be.
My thesis statement relates to sigmoidal growth, which is a growth in an environment.
My thesis connects to sigmodal growth because the areas that will hold the refugees have grown
and have grown resources throughout the years. Animal population has grown, plant life has
grown and living quarters have grown since the last 5 years. Before we could probably not fit our
refugees from Syria but now because of sigmoidal growth, now we can. So, sigmodal growth
probably caused the growth of the Galveston estuary.

In conclusion, our area, the Galveston Bay Estuary can support 1 million refugees with
water, animals and plant life. All these points relate to my thesis in some way and they have had
an impact on this are in different ways. Because of these annotated bibliographies we can
understand how it has an effect on it.
