PURPOSE

AMOUNT/DOSE

Treatment of susceptible infections which


include bone and joint infections,
bronchitis (and other lower respiratory
tract infections), gonorrhea, meningitis
(although treatment failures have been
reported in H. influenzae meningitis), otitis
media, peritonitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis,
skin infections (including soft tissue
infections) and urinary tract infections.
Injection: Prophylaxis for surgical infection.

Treatment of vaginal candidiasis caused


by Candida albicans, bacterial vaginitis
caused by anaerobic bacteria
and Gardnerella vaginalis, trichomonal
vaginitis caused by Trichomonas

associated hyperacidity
-Hyperacidity associated with peptic ulcer,
gastritis, peptic esophagatis, gastric hyper
acidity, and hiatal hernia
-Short-term relief of constipation,
evacuation of the colon for rectal
andbowel examination
-Cap: Fe-deficiency anemia & anemia
during growth, old age & convalescence;
megaloblastic anemia during pregnancy,
in sprue or parasitosis; anemia due to
