Creating a little
picture book
instead of
writing a paper
and not
publishing it is a
great area for
constructivism
because it is as
though the
students are
applying their
writing skills to
the real life work
of publishing.

Reflection:
Storybird is a really great tool to use for pretty much any subject. It is incredibly
versatile and I really appreciate that it involves pictures as well because that can
definitely help students convey another level of meaning that they may not
necessarily be able to reach by using their words only. This is why I thought it was
important to add a box for students learning English who need a little bit more
context or who are lacking vocabulary. With these great applications for student
projects it also needs to be recognized that storybird is a great tool for teachers to
use when they are teaching. It could be as simple as making a book of procedures
or rules for the classroom even. Storybird is such an awesomely broad tool that
teaches professionalism through publication, processes, writing and allows for
creativity.
