Letters of the month:

Practice in class: This month we will learn three letters in their upper and lower case.
Students will learn a letter every week. I will show them pictures starting with that letter
and they will learn words associated with the picture and letter. Moreover, we will review
previous letters of the month. Students will make projects for each letter. We will also
begin placing syllables and sound out words that I will write on the board. Daily, we will
practice the calendar, days of the week, seasons, weather, months, and year. I will ask
questions in Greek and have them attempt to respond in Greek. We will continue
learning colors, counting 1-30, shapes and games, along with our songs. In addition we
will do an activity where children use alphabet magnets to create words on the board.
They will also do writing exercises in their books.
Theme of the month: Body Parts
We will learn how to say in Greek things such as hair, neck, finger and more, along with
fun songs. For each theme there will be a specific coloring book.
Color of the month: Orange
Shape of the month: Oval
Numbers of the month: 2,3,4
Special Days
Religion: , 26th October
The students will learn about the life of St. Demetrios. I will read about his life, always in
simple ways in order for the children to be able to understand and to answer the
questions in Greek.
History: 28th of October 1940. Also, I will read to the
students about the of 1940. As a class we will do a lot of projects and we will learn
a song about our Greek flag.
