Our Sunday Morning Schedule

* 9 AM: Holy Eucharist with Contemporary Music
* 10 AM: Sunday School
* 11 AM: Holy Eucharist with Traditional Music
Anyone of any age is always most welcome
at any of our services.
Prayers for healing, laying-on-of-hands and anointing
with oil are available following each Sunday service. Just ask
the clergy at the service end. These prayers may be for you, or
on behalf of a loved one or friend in need.
Please call the church office if you know of someone who would
appreciate a home visit from one of our Eucharistic visitors.

Visiting this morning?

Please ask an usher for a Visitors Card or, if
you are able, scan the adjacent code with your
smart phone to fill in our on-line form. You
can
also
find
this
form
at
StMarksHighland.org.
Visitation with Bishop Knudsen on Next Week!
Sunday School at 9:00
One Worship Service at 10:00!!
Bishop Chilton Knudsen, Assistant Bishop of the
Diocese of Maryland, will be with us on October 16th.
We will have a different schedule that day, as noted
above. Also, the Vestry will meet with the Bishop
following worship and coffee hour.
Instructed Eucharist This Morning
Todays services will be a little different. An Instructed
Eucharist follows the pattern of a regular Eucharist, but
includes explanations of the service as we go. It is our
hope that you will find it interesting, helpful and
beneficial to your regular Sunday worship.
The Adult Ed class between services this morning
will address some theological constructs inherent in the
Eucharist.
Thank you note to our friends at St. Mark's
Thank you to all of our friends at St. Mark's for
your outpouring of prayers, cards, emails, and
phone calls during Bob's recuperation from
being assaulted on September 2. We are very grateful
for your concern and encouragement. God Bless You All.

kitchen door to proof your entry in the soon-tobe-printed directory. We will have it there for
only a few more weeks, so your opportunity to make
corrections is limited!

website or if your information has changed since you
last did so, please go to StMarksHighland.org and click

Needle Workers and Weavers (Men and
Women)
St. Marks Prayer Shawl Ministry serves
Outreach and Pastoral Care by providing
prayer shawls as comfort to members and
friends during illness, mourning, or difficult times. Each
graduating senior receives a blanket as a reminder of our
church family as they go into the world. We will have
ten graduates this year! Each item reflects the love and
creativity of the maker. We have patterns, and
recommend yarn and sizes. We gather in the Fellowship
Hall for camaraderie and stitching. (no need to attend to
donate shawls or blankets!) Join us 10:30 until noon on

Coat Collection: Its Not Too Late!

They brought a colt to Jesus, and many threw their garments

on itand many spread their garments on the road.(Mark
17, 18).

When Jesus arrived in Jerusalem, the people put

more than palm branches down for him. They put their
jackets (cloaks) down! In keeping with this
biblical witness, we collected coats as part of
our Palm Sunday celebration. If you have a
coat to donate, its not (ever!) too late. Just
bring it to church!

Church Ladies Breakfast

the year. There is no doubt you will enjoy the
humorous and delightful way she tells her story
about writing the book. And, the fellowship and
food are also not to be missed!
