The IDEAS License Server is necessary to use IDEAS network licenses. The IDEAS License Server should
ONLY be installed on a file server or Network computer where the IDEAS network licenses will be located. The
IDEAS License Server works more efficiently if the location/computer where the network licenses are located will
not use any other IDEAS software. If the network licenses are located on a system that will also function as an
IDEAS workstation, first install IDEAS normally with the Local/Standalone license option, and then install the
IDEAS License Server.

4. On the user machine, verify that the VMG software is correctly installed by running the TestDll.exe file from
the VMG database folder C:\Program Files\VMG\VMGThermo location. The program will pause for a few
seconds and should end as follows:
5. Verify that the Extensions\DLLs folder contains the files IDEAS_VMG.dll, SeaPkg.dll, and vmg.ini. If these
files are absent, it means that the VMG product option was not chosen when the IDEAS software was
installed. Run the IDEAS installer (located here: IDEAS600 Software Installerif the IDEAS 600 installer is
required, contact IDEAS Simulation Support at simulation.support@andritz.com), choose the Repair option
and install the VMG product. After the repair option has been run, open the IDEAS License Administrator
(open the Start menu, navigate to All Programs, Andritz Automation and open the IDEAS License
Administrator) and verify that the IDEAS VMG product is licensed. If it is unlicensed, create a License
Request File from the server machine and send it to Simulation Support at simulation.support@andritz.com.
Simulation Support will then return a validated IDEAS VMG License.
6. Copy the modified vmg.ini, SeaPkg.dll and TestDll.exe files on the user machine from the folder

be used with VMG.
9. Run the VMGCondenser_v600.mox file from the C:\ANDRITZ Inc\IDEAS600\Examples\VMG. The model
should run successfully without aborting. If the VMG software or the SeaPkg.dll files were recently updated,
the IDEAS program may exhibit a message during the model opening stage, Opening with a newer version
of VMG properties. Go to the Material Properties VMG object, verify that the correct thermodynamic
packages have been chosen and press the Accept Package button.
10. If the IDEAS software gives errors related to licensing, verify that the IDEAS-VMG product is licensed. Open
the IDEAS License Administrator software from the Windows Start/Program/IDEAS Simulation & Control
menu. Confirm that the IDEAS VMG product has a valid license. If it is unlicensed, create a License Request
File from the server machine and send it to Simulation Support at simulation.support@andritz.com.
