Dear Friend,
Greetings to you once again from everyone at the church. It's
wonderful to know we can come to our heavenly Father, who knows all about
our situations and circumstances! He is a very present help in the times of
trouble.
The Scripture says, "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the
Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all
that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with him" (Acts 10:38). These
words were spoken by Peter the apostle when he went to a man's house, whose
name was Cornelius. This man was a centurion in the Roman army, who was
devout and who prayed and helped many people. But there was something
missing in his life. Though he prayed and helped others there was still that
nagging feeling that there had to be more. The Bible says that he had such a
desire to find that missing part that he also fasted. So many people give up
when the answer is on its way! But not Cornelius. At that time, the Roman
Empire occupied Jerusalem. There were so many Jewish people the Romans
were afraid of uprisings, so they entered into the city to control them. You
would think this Roman centurion would not receive anything from a Jewish
man, but that was not the case. This man Peter was no run of the mill religious
leader! He had been with Jesus, which makes all the difference in the world!
While speaking at Cornelius' house, Peter made known God's intentions to
them all. It was the first time the Gospel was preached to anyone other than a
Jewish person, and it was a message of peace between God and man. God never
separated Himself from humanity: we separated ourselves from God. He has
always preached peace to us, but unfortunately we don't always listen.
Therefore God sent His Son to take the punishment for our sins so we may
inherit eternal life through Jesus Christ. "Greater love hath no man than this,
that a man lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:13). We read of all the
miracles that the Lord performed while here on earth and we marvel. I am
amazed by the authority and power He spoke with! But there is one thing that
always touches me more than all of the healings and miracles He did, and that is

that He laid His life down for us while we were yet sinners. He looked beyond
our faults and saw that we were headed for a dreadful day of judgment. We
were at fault, but He took the blame. When I think about the great love He has
to all of us it makes me want to give Him my best. If I am truly following in His
footsteps I will do what He did: He went about doing good, healing all that
were oppressed. It really doesn't matter if the person is Democrat or
Republican, man or woman, old or young. The fact is, if the Spirit of Christ is
in us we will go about helping others with the same love He has. Our prayers
will not be self-serving but we will ask the Lord to help us speak words of life
to others. We will look to be a light for those in darkness.
Jesus Christ is that missing piece of your life. He is the one true friend that
will never leave you or forsake you. He said He would be with you in trouble.
He said He will hide you in His pavilion from strife, for He is our shelter from
the storms of life. Whosoever believes in Him shall receive remission of sins. I
know He is my Savior because He rose from the dead! Everything He said and
did is true because He rose from the dead. When I finally received that truth and
believed in Him, I had the experience of my sins being forgiven and removed
completely from my life.
If you are spiritually lost, or if you are missing that one piece that will
make your life complete, the answer is Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches us we
are only complete in Him. In Jesus dwells the fulness of the godhead bodily.
Jesus Christ is the author and finisher of our faith. He is the beginning and the
end. He is the root and the offspring of mercy and grace. He is the builder of the
church and He makes sure that the gates of hell do not prevail against the
church. If the things He told us were not so He would have said so. I believe He
went and prepared a place for us, that where He is there we may be also. I
believe He will come again and receive us unto Himself one day. I have seen
many things change over the years, but I have never seen the Lord change, nor
His Word, nor His Spirit. You can trust Him. You can believe He is good and
kind. And you can know He loves you with an everlasting love! Open your
heart to Him today and be saved forevermore!
I invite you to our church. We meet at 624 Torringford West Street in
Torrington, Connecticut. Our schedule of services is Sunday at 10 AM and 7
PM, and Wednesday at 7:30 PM. May God bless you!
Sincerely,

Rev. Daniel Bossidy
