Abortion is Murder

I. The terms used to call the baby does not change fact that it is a human
being
During the months leading to the Emancipation Proclamation, President Lincoln
repeatedly discussed the matter with his cabinet. During one difficult discussion, he
asked: "Gentlemen, how many legs does a sheep have?" Each man answered correctly,
"Four, Mr. President." He proceeded, "Let's call his tail a leg. Now how many legs?" Each
man replied, "Five, Mr. President." Mr. Lincoln retorted, "Nope, still only four. Just because
we call it a leg doesn't make it one."
Abortion is murder. Each abortion snuffs out an innocent human life. Tragically,
doctors have deceived the American public. Referring to unborn babies as "fetus,"
"embryo," or "zygote," may be scientifically correct, but does not change the fact: These
little ones are little human beings. Though called "parasite," "blob," or "tissue," give each
wee creature about 266 days after conception and see what emerges from his mother's
womb. It will be a human baby, not a zebra, a trout, frog or an orangutan.
Remember Mr. Lincoln. Don't be deceived by folks (even doctors) who call a tail a
leg - or humans anything but humans. When a human egg and a human sperm unite, the
resulting individual is simply human. Given time, nutrition and protection, he or she will
grow to maturity. Calling abortion a "termination" or "evacuating the uterus" doesn't
change its reality as murder-slaughtering a human being with premeditated malice.
In one article in the American Medical News that was probably never meant for
pro-life eyes, abortion providers from around the country discussed the emotional
difficulties of performing abortions. If there is any doubt that at least some abortion
providers know that abortion is killing a baby, it is put to rest by British abortionist Judith
Arcana:

It is morally and ethically wrong to do abortions without acknowledging what it

means to do them. I performed abortions, I have had an abortion and I am in favor of
women having abortions when we choose to do so. But we should never disregard the
fact that being pregnant means there is a baby growing inside of a woman, a baby
whose life is ended. We ought not to pretend this is not happening.
One unnamed abortionist said the following in a book that profiled doctors from
different fields:
Nobody wants to perform abortions after ten weeks because by then you see the
features of the baby, hands, feet. Its really barbaric. Abortions are very draining,
exhausting, and heartrending. There are a lot of tears. I do them because I take the
attitude that women are going to terminate babies and deserve the same kind of
treatment as women who carry babies Ive done a couple thousand, and it turned into
a significant financial boon, but I also feel Ive provided an important service. The only
way I can do an abortion is to consider only the woman as my patient and block out the
baby[.]
In this short paragraph, the doctor mentions the word baby four times.
It is clear that many abortion providers know that they are ending life. They see
the babies kicking and moving on the ultrasound screen and then see them later, in
pieces, in the back room of the clinic.

II. The unborn child feels pain while undergoing abortion

Dr. Harrison, said the unborn baby is "a parasite without feeling, thought, or
experience... the fetus simply does not have the things required to feel pain..."
But nerves are in place by six to eight weeks after conception. The chemicals
necessary to send messages over nerve pathways to the brain are present by 12 weeks.

Before being cut to pieces, sucked apart, chemically killed, or otherwise abused (to
death), these little humans struggle, seeking to escape the destruction.

Unborn babies have heightened sensitivities

Unborn babies at 20 weeks development actually feel pain more intensely than
adults. This is a uniquely vulnerable time, since the pain system is fully established, yet
the higher level pain-modifying system has barely begun to develop, according to Dr.
Ranalli.
Having administered anesthesia for fetal surgery, I know that on occasion we
need to administer anesthesia directly to the fetus, because even at these early
gestational ages the fetus moves away from the pain of the stimulation, stated David
Birnbach, M.D., president of the Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology and
self-described as pro-choice, in testimony before the U.S. Congress.
Given the medical evidence that unborn babies experience pain, compassionate
people are viewing abortion more and more as an inhumane and intolerable brutality
against defenseless human beings.

The unborn baby at 20 weeks

Fetal development is already quite advanced at 20 weeks gestation:

The skeleton is complete and reflexes are present at 42 days.

Electrical brain wave patterns can be recorded at 43 days. This is usually

ample evidence that thinking is taking place in the brain.

The fetus has the appearance of a miniature baby, with complete fingers,

toes and ears at 49 days.

All organs are functioningstomach, liver, kidney, brainand all systems are
intact at 56 days.

By 20 weeks, the unborn child has hair and working vocal cords, sucks her
thumb, grasps with her hands and kicks. She measures 12 inches.

Abortion at 20 weeks
Despite the unborn childs advanced development at 20 weeks, the following
painful abortion procedures are used:
Partial-birth abortion (D&X): The unborn baby is delivered feet first, except for
the head, which is punctured at the base of the skull with a sharp object. The brain is
then suctioned out, killing the child. (This method was outlawed in the United States in
2007.)
Dilation and Evacuation (D&E): Sharp-edged instruments are used to grasp, twist
and tear the babys body into pieces, which are then removed from the womb.
Saline abortion: Salt water is injected into the womb through the mothers
abdomen. The unborn baby swallows this fluid, is poisoned and dies in a process that
sometimes takes 24 hours. The toxic saline solution causes severe burns over the unborn
childs entire body.

Minnesota law recognizes fetal pain

MCCL helped to pass Minnesotas Womans Right to Know law in 2003, which,
among other things, informs women that their unborn child can feel pain at 20 weeks
gestation. MCCL also strongly supported the Unborn Child Pain Prevention Act, which
became state law in 2005. The law requires that abortionists and referring physicians
inform women that pain-reducing medication is available for their unborn baby. Pregnant
women must sign a form to either request or refuse the administration of pain-reducing
drugs to their unborn child prior to an abortion.

III. Rape and incest in relation to adoption

What

about

rape?

What

about

incest?

These

horrors

defy

descriptive

condemnation. They represent the least human and most selfish acts imaginable - along
with murder - and they deserve swift and severe punishment. A woman or girl abused by
rape or incest should be seen promptly, evaluated with compassion and treated
appropriately to prevent conception. Should pregnancy occur, the tragedy should not be
compounded by another crime: Murdering the baby.
Rape and incest deserve one further note: They represent a relatively uncommon
cause of pregnancy and figure in less than 2 percent of abortions. The other 98 percent
are done for the sake of convenience (not that of the baby).
The case of Roe vs. Wade:
FACTS:
This is an appeal of the decision of a US District Court in Texas, which
granted the declaratory relief prayed for by the plaintiff who challenged the
constitutionality of the Texas Criminal abortion laws; but denied issuing an injunction
against enforcement of such statutes.

In 1970, Norma L McCorvey ( Jane Roe ), a pregnant single woman

(allegedly a result of rape), filed a suit against the defendant, District Attorney Henry
Wade questioning Texas State Laws which proscribe procuring or attempting an abortion
except on medical advice for the purpose of saving the mothers life. She argues that
said laws are unconstitutionally vague and that they abridge her right of personal privacy
as guaranteed and protected by the First, Fourth, Fifth, Ninth, and Fourteenth
Amendments. Later, she amended her complaint as to represent or sue on behalf of
herself and all other women similarly situated; thereby becoming a class suit.
ISSUE:

Whether or not a womans right to privacy as protected by the constitution

includes the right to abort her child.
HELD:
Yes. The right of privacy x x x is broad enough to encompass a womans
decision whether or not to terminate her pregnancy. We therefore conclude that the right
of personal privacy includes abortion decision, but that this right is not unqualified and
must be considered against important state interests in regulation.
A state criminal abortion statute of the current Texas type that exempts
from criminality only a lifesaving procedure on behalf of the mother, without regard to
pregnancy stage and without recognition of the interests involved (such as liberty
interests), is violative of the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment.

IV. The effect on the mother who has gone through abortion
One more tragedy - often delayed and overlooked - concerns the mother of the
aborted baby. I have cared for and counseled such women - women who find it difficult to
live with an awakened conscience. Though duped, squelched or ignored, a conscience
awakened to reality may produce guilt, grief and pain. Even with the reality of
forgiveness, the scars may produce long-standing consequences.

V. Arguments that abortion is murder

If I picked up a knife, or a syringe of poison, and stabbed somebody with it, killing
them, I think everyone can agree, that is murder. Why does it matter if I do it to a
person inside or outside of their mother, they are still a unique human being. I
understand that pro-death advocates will say that the baby is still part of the
mother, but when they are born they are still connected to their mother by the
umbilical cord. So can kill the baby then without it being murder, since by the pro-

death argument such physical connection means the baby is just a piece of the
mother? When faced with such obvious and simple logic, all rational arguments for

abortions simply break down.

Abortion is basically killing a innocent baby that is alive in it's mothers womb.
People try to say that the baby isn't alive and it's totally unaware. But in reality its
heart and brain are the first things to develop. Not only does the baby die but the
mother feels the loss. This should automatically tell you there is something wrong

with abortion.
A mother has a duty to care for her children when born. If she doesn't execute this
duty, she might be charged with child endangerment, negligence, child abuse, etc.
Therefore, the law forces a mother "to use her body" to take care of another who
cannot survive on its own - ie: the baby/child. Why do we call it a crime when a
mother starves her newborn, a helpless baby that will die without the efforts of
others, and then not call it a crime when the mother kills her baby inside the
womb? Why do we excuse the latter as "abortion" and not call it what it is, murder?
I think that abortion as an acceptable scenario is beginning to destroy the idea that
a mother owes any duty to her children. If she could have murdered the child
without ANY consequences when it was in her womb, why should she have to work
hard to take care of it outside the womb? What changed? It is because of questions
like these that I see abortion as simply a way for a person to be completely selfish
and to put their needs 100% ahead of their children's needs. It is a way for people

to legally murder their children so that they have easier lives.

The definition of murder in the Merriam-Webster dictionary is:The unlawful
premeditated killing of one human being by another.VerbKill (someone) unlawfully
and with premeditation. And I, personally, believe that abortions are exactly that.
The umbilical cord (the fetus' life line) is cut, the fetus is then killed and
dismembered. That, ladies and gentleman, is what you call murder. What if that

happened to a full grown human? It would cause an outrage; the media would be
all over it. Though despite that, if it is done to an unborn fetus, to some it is
perfectly fine. Murder often happens for reasons (ie: war, mafia, etc.) But with
abortions, there is absolutely no reason for the death and murder of the fetus. The

unborn child has done no wrong and has had its future stolen from it.
Abortion is murder because life begins at conception. A pregnant mother's freedom
of choice over her body should not prevent her child from having a chance of life. If

a woman does not want to keep her baby, she should put her baby up for adoption.
Our innocent children deserve the right to life. First off, the baby is not a part of the
mother. Does the mother have 2 brains? 2 hearts? 4 kidneys? NO. The baby is a
different person. The second the sperm meets the egg a whole different life is
created. It may be your egg, but thats only HALF. Its not all you. The baby is a
person. And, as Dr. Suess said, "A persons a person no matter how small". The
baby has a functioning body. He or she wiggles his/her little toes, has a beating
heart, and a body with organs and systems. Babies in the womb can FEEL PAIN.
When the mother gets an abortion, the baby squirms and kicks and tries to flee.
They feel pain and they try to wiggle away in terror. It is murder. When you walk
into that abortion clinic you have a LIVING, functioning baby inside of you, and
when you leave that baby has been killed. If you hadn't of gotten an abortion that
baby would of been born and grown up and had kids of their own. They had a life

ahead of them. But the mother selfishly took it.

No one should have a choice to murder another person. Rape and life of the
mother are rare circumstances and all the pro-life legislation that's been getting
put out has exceptions for them, furthermore a number of states had laws allowing
abortion in such cases before Roe v. Wade, abortion was legalized for other reasons.
That these issues are brought up shows pro-choice people know inside that
abortion is inexcusable "on demand" save for specific circumstances. Life begins at

the

very

first

moment

of

conception.

United

States

Senate

Judiciary

Subcommittee invited experts to testify on the question of when life begins. Dr.
Alfred M. Bongioanni, professor of pediatrics and obstetrics at the University of
Pennsylvania, stated; I have learned from my earliest medical education that
human life begins at the time of conception. I submit that human life is present
throughout this entire sequence from conception to adulthood and that any
interruption at any point throughout this time constitutes a termination of human
life.I am no more prepared to say that these early stages [of development in the
womb] represent an incomplete human being than I would be to say that the child
prior to the dramatic effects of pubertyis not a human being. This is human life
at every stage. Dr. Bongioanni is not the the only physician that has stood by this
truth. Many other physicians have stated their findings and beliefs. In just the
fourth week of a little babies life, their brain, spinal cord and heart begin to form.
The eyes, ears, stomach, and intestines are forming. In just four weeks, this human
being has begun to form the vital organs they need to survive. At the eighth week,
their very own heart develops and starts to beat. At the babies ninth week, all of
the structures necessary for pain sensation, are functioning. How can it be that this
baby, with eyes, ears, a beating heart, and the ability to feel pain, is not be a living
human? With all of the facts, it is clearly seen that, conception is the beginning of
life. So if the baby is alive, then every abortion is the ending of an innocent life,
which is murder. No matter how you view the facts, the truth is that abortion takes
lives. The facts are not the only evidence of this. Oddly enough, there are doctors
that know they are taking human lives. Dr. Anthony Levatino, a man who is now a
pro-life physician, was once an OB-GYN, who also performed abortions. The event
that changed his heart was a difficult time. In 1984, Dr. Levatinos daughter was hit
by a car and killed in front of his house. He became bitter and agitated, every time

he was asked to schedule an abortion he got very angry. His own words describe
his situation the best, I was hard to be around. After a few months of that I started
to realize -- this is somebody's child. I lost my child, someone who was very
precious to us. And now I am taking somebody's child and I am tearing him right
out of their womb. I am killing somebody's child. After a few months of that I
started to realize -- this is somebody's child. I lost my child, someone who was very
precious to us. And now I am taking somebody's child and I am tearing him right

out of their womb. I am killing somebody's child.

If a woman can spread her legs, then she can take care of a baby. With all kinds of
contraceptives out there, there is no excuse. Plus, whether in or out of the womb, a

baby is still a baby.

Everyone who is old enough to have sex is old enough to know it produces
children. Pro-choice is just away to justify murder and not take responsibility for

your actions.
The only differences between a baby in the womb and a baby outside the womb
are age and location.

VI. Abortion is punishable by the Revised Penal Code

Abortion Law
Abortion is permitted to save a woman's life but the law does not state this
explicitly. Abortion in the Philippines is generally illegal. Under the abortion provisions of
the Penal Code, a person who intentionally causes an abortion with the consent of the
pregnant woman is subject to a penalty of prison correccional (i.e., imprisonment for
from six months to six years) in its medium or maximum period. A physician or midwife
who causes or assists in the performance of an abortion is subject to the maximum
period of this penalty, as well as suspension from the right to follow a profession. A
woman performing an abortion on herself to conceal her dishonour is subject to the

minimum or medium period of this penalty. Although the Penal Code does not list specific
exceptions to the general prohibition on abortion, under the general criminal law
principles of necessity as set forth in article 11(4) of the Code, an abortion may be
legally performed to save the pregnant womans life.
