DIADYNAMIC SEQ.

13.1 DIADYNAMIC SEQ. BASE 5%, 10%, 20%

DIADYNAMIC SEQ.
Position of electrodes

depending on the type of disease - both electrodes on the belly of the muscle
(painful spasm of tonic muscles), considerably asymmetric electrodes to
affect local spasms (the smaller electrode on the trigger point, the larger one
on the muscle insertion), segmental to affect Heads zones and respective
internal organs (one electrode paravertebrally in the respective segment, the
other on the hyperalgesic zone), transregional (on joints, injured places - 2
days after the injury and in case of an in-depth effect), radicular for the
diagnoses at which direct application is contraindicated (m. Brger, sy.
Sudeck) paravertebrally in the segment of innervation of the affected area

Length of application

Depending on the type of disease and acuteness of the condition. Most

frequently 3-5 min on one place, for another place reduced to 1 - 2 minutes.
Safe for exceptions, the total time should not exceed 12 min. The more acute
the disease, the shorter the total application time should be (approx. 3 - 5
minutes).

Frequency of treatments

depending on the type of troubles, their stage etc. - from 5 times a week in
acute conditions up to once a week in maintenance therapy

Number of treatments

2 - 10 - depending on the type and stage of the troubles

Intensity

above-threshold sensitive for DF and LP

Effect

analgesic, vasodilatation, hyperaemic

Note

Suitable especially in spastic pains, functional and organic disorders of the

locomotive organs, pains without adynamia.

ischial tubers - at the sides of the anus)

Effect

myostimulation

Note

The carrier frequency can be adjusted to 4 kHz or higher.

The current could be badly tolerated by the patient.
In this case set the maximum intensity that they tolerate.
The effect is considerably lower because there only occur isolated muscle
contractions of stronger tonic nature and stimulation of intrafusal fibres of
muscle spindle.
This results in increase of resting muscle tonus and thus facilitates the
subsequent therapy e.g. according to Kegel or using biofeedback.

caudal cathode 8x12 cm at the upper pectoral spine (Th3-Th5)
EL 3.:
cranial anode 8x12 cm (50 - 100 cm2) at the lower pectoral spine (Th9-Th12),
caudal cathode 8x12 cm at the upper lumbar spine (L1-L3)
EL 4.:
cranial anode 8x12 cm (50 - 100 cm2) at the upper lumbar spine (L1-L3),
caudal cathode 8x12 cm at the sacrum

Length of application

20 min.

Frequency of treatments

first 3 daily, then every other day

Number of treatments

Intensity

below threshold of pain up to the highest endurable level (the patient should
feel "vibration" under the electrodes = muscle fasciculation)

Effect

analgesic

Note

Owing to early accommodation it is necessary to keep the intensity during the

whole application.
Thanks to interruption of intensity during the pulse it is possible to perform
longer application without use of protective solutions.
EL4 a) - lumbago without propagation of pain
EL4 b) - lumbago with unilateral radiation of pain to SI joint and lower
extremity
