What is Demon Fusion?

Demon Fusion is taking two demons to Victor's Gouma-den and then

using them
in the fusion process to create a new demon. There are several
types of fusion
available.
_____________
Normal Fusion

This is what happens when you take two normal demons of differing
orders then
fuse them together. You will get a result based on the orders and
base levels
of the demons used. I've listed individual recipes for every demon in
the
Devil Chart section under each demon's entry in that section, but I'll
also
link to the online fusion calculator that info came from, here-It's at: http://apps.evilrobotstuff.com/raidou2/
Some of the names of the demons in that online web app are from
the Japanese
version of the game, however. My own listings correct these to the
proper
English version names.
When you fuse a demon, you will get a gift from one of the demons
after the
fusion takes place if they have Max loyalty. If both have Max loyalty,
one of
the demons will be randomly selected. You will get one item out of
the possible

3 items a demon can give as gifts.

Here's a general list of what orders you need to fuse to get a

specific order
as a fusion result.
There are seven basic orders. Pyro, Frost, Volt, Wind, Fury, Pagan,
and Skill.
Then there are four special orders, two of which are only obtained
by fever
fusions and two of which are really only useful to use in fusion.
For basic order fusions, the resulting demon can be calculated by
the
following formula in addition to the rules below:
((demon #1 base level + demon #2 base level) / 2) + 3
You cannot fuse demons above your own level, except in the case of
the
Fiend and Evil fusion fevers which are not even fully controllable
anyway.

Evil and Fiend are not created by normal fusion. If you use them as
a fusion
ingredient, Fiends are considered Skill while Evils are considered
Pagan.

______________
Element Fusion

Elements are created by fusing two demons of the same order

together.
They can be used to "rank" a demon of one of the seven basic
orders
up or down, depending on the element used and the order of the
demon it is fused to. For example, the first of the Skill order demons
is a Pixie. The second is Tam Lin. If you rank up Pixie by one rank,
you get
a Tam Lin. Skill inheritance works as normal with element fusion.
You cannot fuse elements on to Fiend, Evil, Element or Spirit type
demons.
As with most SMT games, there are four basic elementals.

Erthys

Fury + Fury

Aeros

Wind + Wind
Skill + Skill

Aquans

Frost + Frost
Volt + Volt

Flaemis

Pyro + Pyro
Pagan + Pagan

In Devil Summoner 2 there are also two additional elements that

must
be fused by fusing two specific elements together. They are...

Sylph

Aeros + Flaemis

Undine

Erthys + Aquans

Each element has a rank up or down effect when fused to a normal

order of
demon, these are...

Erthys

Pyro : - 1
Frost : + 1
Volt : - 1
Wind : + 1
Fury : + 1
Pagan : + 1
Skill : - 1
Aeros

Pyro : + 1
Frost : - 1
Volt : + 1

Skill : - 1

Aquans

Fury : + 1
Pagan : - 1
Skill : + 1

Flaemis

Pyro : + 1

Skill : + 1
Undine

Frost : + 2
Volt : + 1
Wind : - 1
Fury : + 2
Pagan : + 1
Skill : + 1

You cannot rank up and down on Evil and Fiend order demons.

Mitama/Spirit Fusion

Mitamas are a special type of demon created by fusing two

elements together
which can then be used to fuse onto other demons to give bonuses
to that
demon while maintaining their current level and stats. Fusing a
mitama onto a
demon will also allow you to reassign that demon's known passive
skills.
However, if you fuse it on at any time other than a Full Moon, no
skills
of any kind will be passed on.
At Full Moon, a Mitama fused onto a demon will allow a full skill
shuffle
of all skills possessed by the demon and mitama and pass on the
memorized
passive skill list of the mitama to the demon. Mitamas are THE way
to make customized demons. It's good practice to make mitamas
with great
skills by passing those skills from demon to element, then to
mitama.
You can then register that mitama to the devil chart and then
repeatedly buy
it back and fuse it onto your demons at Full Moon to give them good
skills.
Mitamas also give bonus stats to the demon they are fused on to
based on
what type of mitama they are. Ara mitama gives St. Kusi mitama
gives Ma.
Nigi mitama gives Vi, and Saki mitama gives Lu. Yes, Nigi mitamas
usually

give MA in all

this game.

other

games.

Mitamas CAN be fused on to Evil and Fiend type demons. That is the
only way
to give them more than their starting and learned skills.

_____________
Fusion Fevers

Occasionally, you may notice Victor go kind of crazy when you fuse
a demon.
He'll ask you if you consent to the operation and then ask you for
gems if
you do. Here's how it works:
It's based on the Fusion Count you can see while you talk to him.
Remember that you want to get ready to fuse for these when the
counter reads
one BEFORE the target for the fusion type you want. Example: when
it reads 10
for Repeating Digit, or when it reads 6 for Fiend or Evil.
There's three categories of gems. They are each assigned a "point
value" if
you will. When certain point values are met in each of these fusion
types,
something happens. First, I'll list the gems and their values.

1st Gem

Onyx
: 5000
Turqoise : 5000
Amethyst : 7000
2nd Gem

Aquamarine : 10000
Sapphire : 10000
Garnet
: 10000
Topaz
: 15000
Opal
: 20000

3rd Gem

Pearl : 30000
Ruby : 30000
Emerald : 40000
Diamond : 50000

Now, on to the fever fusion types.

____________________________
Repeating Digit Fever Fusion

Otherwise known as "repdigit fever," this happens on the fusions

when the last
two, and ONLY the last two digits of the fusion count become the
same. Such
as 11, 22, 33, 44, 55... If you get to over 100 total fusions, that digit
does not matter. 99 and 100 both count as repdigit fusions because
of the
99 and 00. As would of course 199 and 200, 299 and 300, etc...
How do you know it's repeating digit fever time? The level-up screen
music
will play while Victor goes nuts. Here are the results, based on the
above
point value for gems.

No result

1 to 14999
base.

Demon gets +2 to a random stat. Bonus stats, not

15000 to 34999 Additional passive skill slot added. Cannot exceed

the
normal limit of six passive slots.
35000 or more
acquired from

One of four passive skills which can ONLY be

this type of fusion will be added to the demon...

Destructive Joy All damage caused by the demon
increased

by 1.5 times the normal value.

Mage's Craft

do

50% chance that any magic attack will

double damage.
Hero's Might 50% chance that any physical attack will
do double damage.

stat

Lucky Capote

Percent chance equal to demon's Luck

that any damage they take will be nulled.

Max = 40 luck - 40% chance.
If you already have one type of special passive on a demon, one of
the ones
you DON'T have will be added until you have them all. After that, I
assume
it will add passive slots or stats depending on the demon's current
passive
skill slot total. Making a demon with all four of these skills and
passing
them on to elements and mitamas to spread them around is a good
idea.

Evil Fever Fusion

This can happen when the fusion count reaches a number divisible
by 7.
7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, etc... This is the ONLY way to create the "Evil"
order demons, which those who've played the first Raidou Kuzunoha
game will
easily identify as enemies from that game. Evil fusion can first
occur in

Chapter 3 after you defeat your first Fiend, I believe.

It does not matter what demons you fuse together for this fusion,
but
if you plan to use the demon I would highly advise that one of the
ingredients has six passive skill slots because fusing a mitama on
to
a demon does not add passive skill slots, except in the case of
repdigit
fever with the appropriate gem values. Honestly, you're better off
using
repdigit fever to add the special passives.
The result is random and is based upon the point values of the gems
you
give to Victor. You merely qualify for the higher level demons by
giving
him enough gems. Giving the max point value does not ensure you
will get
the highest tier demon, it only ensures that it is a possibility.
The only way to ensure that you get what you want is to have all
other
Evil types in your tubes and give Victor enough gems to qualify for
the
target demon.
You will know it is an Evil fusion when the Devil Summoner Raidou
Kuzunoha
vs the Soulless Army boss music plays -- it's also used in this game
as a
mini-boss/event battle music.
Anyway, here's the qualifying numbers for this type of fusion...

Accident! Results in a random one of three non-Evil order

demons: Fury Slime, Skill Blob, Frost Black Ooze.

5000 or more Zombie, Zombie Lady, Zombie Officer

15000 or more Zombie Guard, Yomi-kugutsu (saber type)

35000 or more Yomi-kugutsu (sub-machine gun type), Nesting Doll

45000 or more Hiruko, Nesting Skull
65000 or more Yomi-kugutsu (machine gun type), Red Cape

Again, just giving Victor enough gems to qualify for a Red Cape or
machine
gun type Yomi-kugutsu doesn't mean you're guaranteed to get it.
The only
way to force it 100% of the time is to carry all other Evil demons in
your
tubes.
As a side note, you can force the fusion accidents Slime, Blob, and
Black Ooze the same way. In this way you can create a Slime with a
massive
number of passive skills which will cost very little money to
summon from
the Devil Chart and then use it to spread passives around. I
personally had
a slime with every single passive available in the first play by the
end of
my first playthrough registered in my devil chart.
Evil Fusions are considered "accidents" by the game mechanics and
thus no
active skills are inherited by the result. The demon will only have its
default skill set when created.
__________________
Fiend Fever Fusion

This can happen at a New Moon when the fusion count reaches a
number divisible
by 7, just like the Evil fever. This will ONLY happen at New Moon
phase.

Supposedly, being in Bad Luck increases the chance of Fiend

occuring over Evil
fusion. It's just random chance as to whether Evil or Fiend happens
since they
share the same fusion count. However, if say, repdigit happens on
the same
fusion, it takes priority and will happen -- at fusion 77 for example.
Like with Evil, it doesn't matter what your base components are.
Just make
sure one of them has 6 passive skill slots. And again like Evil, the
result
is not at all guaranteed, it is again a CHANCE based on your total
point
values. Which of course means the only way to force a result you
want is
to carry all other possible results in your tubes. This makes getting
Black Rider and Pale Rider kind of a pain since Victor won't always
ask for
enough value in gems to even qualify for them. He really needs to
ask for
a Diamond for any real chance.
Unlike Evil, you have to kill the Fiends in battle first before you can
fuse them. Binbou-gami isn't killed the first time you beat him, by
the way.
The Fiend battle music plays when this fusion is active.

0
order

Accident! Results in a random one of three non-Fiend

demons: Fury Slime, Skill Blob, Frost Black Ooze.

5000 or more White Rider, Red Rider

15000 or more Binbou-gami
35000 or more Yakubyou-gami
45000 or more Alice

65000 or more Black Rider, Pale Rider

Here are the conditions you must meet to even have a chance to
fuse them.
White Rider Defeat in battle when he shows up at a New Moon in
Chapter 3 or
later or in Case File 5-9 "The Crown of Victory."
Red Rider Defeat in battle when he shows up at a New Moon in
Chapter 4 or
later or in Case File 6-8 "The Sword of War."
Black Rider Defeat in battle when he shows up at a New Moon in
Chapter 5 or
later or in Case File 7-8 "The Scales of Famine."
Pale Rider Defeat in battle when he shows up at a New Moon in
Chapter 6 or
later or in Case File 8-8 "The Seal of Death."
Binbou-gami Defeat him in Chapter 4.
Yakubyou-gami Defeat him in Chapter 4.
Alice Defeat her in Case File 6-10 "One Girl's Happiness." to
receive the
item "Staff of Death" which allows you to fuse her.

And no, the final New Moon Fiend who hounds you in Chapter 7 on
normal or at
any time after you've killed the Riders on King Mode, "Kageboushi,"
cannot be
fused or acquired in any way. He's a doppleganger of sorts.
Fiend Fusions are considered "accidents" by the game mechanics
and thus no
active skills are inherited by the result. The demon will only have its
default skill set when created.
