Dear Customer,
Regarding Perkins 1300EDi Series, which is used to power the generating sets that range
from 165KVA to 250KVA (50Hz application), a Diagnostic Handheld Tool, Prolink, could be
used to achieve the following the functions:
A - Reading the active codes: which is a number of 3 digits that indicate for the problem
that the engine is experiencing. There are two kind of "Problems" or "Codes" that engine
may suffer from:
1/ Fault code: which indicates for a fault case for a component of the electronic system.
This fault could be Open circuit, intermittent fault , damage or other. For example, Coolant
Temperature sensor is short circuited.
2/ Event Code: which indicates for an abnormal condition of the engine as Engine high
coolant temperature.
B - Reading the inactive codes: these
are the codes that were active and now
are not available. This is a very useful
property for knowing the history of
ECM Problems.
C - Measurement for more than 20
quantities and ECM inputs as : Coolant
temperature (C), oil pressure(KPa),
over speed (rpm), Oil Temperature (C),
Injection pressure (MPa), Fuel
consumption, running hours and
others.
D - Engine data: Serial Number, Brake
horse power, rated speed and others.
E- The diagnostic Tests: this is a very
powerful feature of the Prolink, where
two kinds of tests could be applied to
the engine:
1/ Engine Off test:
a- Standard Test.
b- Injector Test.
c- Wiggle Test.
d- Output Test.
2/ Engine running test:
a- Standard test.
b- Injector test.
c- wiggle test.
Knowing that Prolink works according
the ATA communication Protocol, which is widely applied with the American diesel engines.
