HOW TO APPLY

How to Apply
Admission into ourPetroleum Engineering graduate program is based upon many factors including
GPA, GRE scores, letters of recommendation and the statement of purpose. Admission decisions are
recommended to our Department Head by our graduate application committee who meet
periodically throughout the year. Funding decisions are separate from admissions decisions and will
be communicated through a departmental letter to the student.
Please note that our department guidelines require that we have your completed application on le
prior to discussions/inquiries for admission or nancial assistance. We certainly encourage you to
correspond with faculty and the Graduate Programs sta, but we ask that you limit your contact
with faculty to introductions and discussions of technical interest.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND THE FACULTY SOLICITATIONS FOR ADMISSION OR FUNDING. ALL SUCH
INQUIRIES SHOULD BE SENT TO THE GRADUATE PROGRAMS OFFICE.
We regret that we CANNOT "pre-evaluate" candidates--you must submit a completed application to
Texas A&M University.
The majority of admissions will be made in the Fall of each year. However, exceptions are made for
outstanding students who apply for spring.

Admission Deadlines
Students who wish to be considered for funding must meet our internal departmental deadlines. All
application materials must be completed by the stated deadline. Applicants are encouraged to
submit documents to the admissions oce 4 weeks prior to our departmental deadlines to
accommodate for processing time.
