Weekly Meditation
He who in suffering and illness prays to the Lord is certain
that Gods love will never abandon him, and also that the
love of the Church, the extension in time of the Lords
saving work, will never fail. Physical healing, an outward
expression of the deepest salvation, thus reveals the
importance that man in his entirety of soul and body
has for the Lord.
- Pope Benedict XVI, Homily, February 11th, 2012 -

OCTOBER THE MONTH OF THE ROSARY

To celebrate the month of the Rosary, we will be tabling in the
Commons each Monday from 11:30 12:30 asking people for their
prayer intentions. On Tuesday, we will pray the Rosary at 7pm on the
Tower Lawn offering up all the intentions of those who have asked
for prayers. Everyone is invited to join us at 7pm to pray the Rosary.
THAT MAN IS YOU MENS GROUP
Our St. Augustines Mens Group meets each Monday at 8pm in the
Student Lounge. All men (aged 18 and older) are invited to join us as
we explore becoming a man after Gods own heart. Wherever you
are in your spiritual life, Jesus Christ wants to encounter you and
take you further. Join us this Monday as we explore The Four
Leadership Roles of Men.
FEMININITEA
The young womens group, FemininiTea, meets each Friday at
4:00pm in the Student Lounge. Come share a (boiled) egg and (real)
tea and (homemade) cookies with us as we explore what it means to
be a Christian woman in the modern world. All young women are
invited (sorry, guys.) Lydia Brown will be leading a discussion on how
we can enjoy the blessings of the third millennium while maintaining
authentic femininity.
ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
Can you spare 30 minutes to spend time with the Lord? We are still in
need of volunteers to sign up for time slots to pray before the
Blessed Sacrament each Thursday from 1:00pm to 8:30pm.
Exposition will occur following the 12:30pm Mass. Sign up at the
back of the Church on the Bulletin Board near the Parent Room. If
you are unable to fulfil your commitment, please make sure you are
finding an alternate to take your place.

FROM THE PASTOR

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As we enter mid-terms, be assured of our prayers for you! The
church and day chapel are open each day, an extra prayer will
always helps!
Thank you to all who took the time to fill out music surveys. We
had a strong response of 44 surveys and will put the result charts
on our website this week. As we suspected, we have a diverse
community from many different places and backgrounds. There
were some strong indicators, and other trends that will help form
our music ministry. A couple of clear insights are that music is an
important part of our worship and that all those who contribute
to this ministry are deeply appreciated. It is also clear that we
want our music to inspire us and help us to better worship God. It
seemed that people are, for the most part, pleased with the
music that is provided at each of the Masses. It also seems that
minor adjustments could have profound improvements, such as a
few moments of silence after the Offertory and Communion
hymns. There does not seem to be a great desire to sing the Our
Father, but there was enough interest to consider doing it
seasonally. In order to accommodate the desire to have a broader
and diverse selection of music and to provide long-term savings,
we have ordered a balanced hymnal, with readings included. The
new hymnal, called the St. Augustines hymnal, will replace the
annual Breaking Bread missal. It contains most of the hymns that
we have been become familiar with in the Breaking Bread missal.
As with all liturgical decisions, we strive to worship and honor
God to the best of our ability with the resources that we have at
hand.
May God continue to bless our parish!
Fr. Hasenoehrl
FAMILY PROMISE
Beginning next year, we are in need of a coordinator for our
Family Promise program, which provides temporary housing for
homeless families in local churches. If you are interested, please
contact Fr. Hasenoehrl.
A big thankyou to Warren & Julia Akin for coordinating the
program for us this year! They will coordinate our final hosting
week in December and train the new coordinator then.
SISTER MARY DAVID HARTSE
Sister Mary David Hartse, a local Ursuline Sister, was recently
injured by a fall, and is presently in the Skilled Nursing Center.
She hopes to return to her apartment soon, but in the meantime
would be grateful for visits, phone calls, and cards from her many
friends. Her address is:
Skilled Nursing Center, Rm. 210
Good Samaritan Village
640 N. Eisenhower St.
Moscow, ID 83843
You can reach her by calling 208-882-6560 asking for the Skilled
Nursing Center. Please keep Sr. Mary David in your prayers.
GPS BOOK CLUB
Our new book is Night by Elie Wiesel. It is a slim volume of
terrifying power. It is a testimony of a boy that survives the
Jewish concentration camps. Our meeting date is October 26th at
1:30pm at Caf Artista.
