Everybody knows about Vedic Astrology contains 12 signs, 12 houses, nine planets act.

But I would like to talk about its system of working. Lets try to find out how Vedic
Astrology works and how millions of human are attached with this science. According to
my view Vedic Astrology is a planetary system which penalize and rewards for past life
karmas of every single human on this earth. Lets try to find out how this system works,
If you have done good Karmas in your past life , planets have to reward in your present
life and if you have done evil karmas in your past life, planetary system is going to
penalize for your karmas in present life. This is the reason why millions of innocent
people are having struggles and problems in their lifes as they had done evil karmas in
their past life. But in Vedic Astrology there is a free will to improve their past life karmas
in present life and live a batter life. When a native takes birth on this earth, the planetary
system decides the whole life of the native according to his/her karmas in past life. If
the native dose pure karmas in present life he/she can minimize the struggle and
problems from his/her life. All nine planets in Vedic Astrology has the different role to do
in every horoscope of a native and decide the results to give in every field of life from
birth time to death time. For example if a Planets take the duty in your horoscope to
make you reach, he will have to do it as he is appointed to do it in your life, Similarly if
any other planets is appointed to give you diseases in their period, he has to do it.
Sometimes a planets who had given a luxurious life to native, also gives a chronic
disease or any may be any other problems regarding life. Vedic Astrology is the system
where you can find out the horoscope with the details of all your planets whether they
are going to punish you or going to reward for your good karmas. Vedic Astrology also
helps to repent of karmas via doing good karmas in your present life. Remedies of the
planets in Vedic Astrology also is the simplest way to repent of karmas and live a batter
life. Astrology and Karma are interrelated and hence one cannot appreciate astrology unless
understand the concept of Karma. Do we decide our parents or parents gave us life? Is this
universe is ruled by laws (certain) or chance? Does soul have death? Does Newtons third law
(for every action there will be equal and opposite reaction) hold good for life? All these questions
are interrelated with each other when we try to understand about the concept of Karma. Karma
theory is the most important phenomenon without which no one can explain the disparities in
human life.
Universe is operating in certain harmony; nature is always working to restore equilibrium when
the harmony is disturbed by mans act. Similar to man with his action trying to bend a stick and
stick will automatically regain to its original state. So Karma neither rewards nor punishes, it
only restores its lost harmony. It is the man who suffer or rejoice based on his past acts. If
someone do bodily or wordily harm to other, the person has to suffer for the same (If Newtons
law for every action there will be equal and opposite reaction holds good for every object then
it should also be true for every thought and action).
Mans present existence is mere repetition of his previous existence connecting the past with the
future. So any action performed by man may fructify in a minute or day or a year or in a life or in

several life. Collective actions performed by everyone will remain in the form of something
unseen till the time of fructification (Refer Jungs collective unconscious for better
understanding). According to karma theory when one dies his soul which is enveloped in a
subtle body and invested with sum of total good and bad actions/thoughts passes in to another
physical body based on deeds done by him in his previous life and continues its journey until
emancipation. So the statement parent gave us life becomes absurd. Prof. B. Suryanarain Rao
observes this Before the birth of child, it has karma to its credit and as a result of that karma it
takes birth in a particular family with particular surroundings, special physical features and
noticeable mental inclination.
Great thinkers, philosophers, composers and genius are repetition of other thinkers, philosophers,
composers who died on other stars or earth. Karma theory explains why there is significant
difference between two people born on same time (Even twin brothers who born and brought up
in same environment). To conclude, one should not consider karma as limiting factor of life
instead should understand that in born intellectual are because of this cause effect phenomenon.
Many think that astrology and karma limit us to believe in fatalism and leaves no space for
growth. My next post will be around this and some of other misconception.

Elango Annamalai & Muthu Vijayan Elango What is Karma? The best meaning of the word

which captures its essential spirit has been given by the great saint Paramhansha Yogananda. I am
quoting
from
his
famous
book
Autobiography
of
a
Yogi.
"Fate, Karma, Destiny- call it what you may- there is a law of justice which somehow but not by
chance determines our race, our physical structure and some of our mental and emotional traits.
Important thing to realize is that while we may not escape our own basic pattern we can work in
conformity with it. That is where free will comes in. We are free to choose and discriminate to the
limits of our understanding, and as we rightly exercise our power of choice, our understanding
grows. Then, once having chosen, a man has to accept the consequences of his choice and go on
from there. Does it not sound very similar to Newtons third law of motion: To every action
there
is
an
equal
and
opposite
reaction."
The theory of Karma recognizes 3 kinds of Karma in our life. They are as
follows:
1. Sanchit Karma- The good and bad Karma that we inherit from our past lives in
this life.
2. Praravdha Karma- The net balance of good and bad Karma which we inherit from
past lives in this life which we must experience in this life.
3. Kriyaman Karma- The good and bad karma that we have earned from action in
this life itself at any given point of time.

Out of these 3 Karmas, a and c Karma types and their effects can be neutralized by present good
and bad karmas in this life itself. But the net effect of Praravdha Karmas whether it is good or bad
have to be experienced in this life itself. This theory of Karma does not accept that our life is
totally predestined, our free will and the choices that we make at critical junctures in our life also
play an equally important part. Hence it is not correct to say that whatever is supposed to happen
is going to happen in our life and we are just hapless puppets dancing under the strings of our fate
or destiny. If there was no choice and everything that happens in our life was predestined,
then astrology or astrological predictions would have no relevance in human civilization.
The Horoscope: The position of planets in different signs and houses and the strengths of
different planets and houses in our natal chart reflect the Praravdha Karma and the pre- destined
events in our life. These are also called Drirah or Fixed Karma or fixed results in our life, which
an astrologer will analyze from a persons natal chart and can also predict when they are likely to
happen
by
analyzing
the
Dasha
system.
But there are another kind of Karma, which consists of Sanchit Karma and Kriyaman
Karma These are called Adrirah Karma or probable Karma and they are not predetermined.
Astrologer can make a forecast only by analyzing the divisional charts computed from natal charts
as well as by analyzing the transit status of each planet and what relationship the transit planets
are forming with the planets in the natal chart. This forecast can only talk about probable events
and whether a particular planet is supporting or challenging. However the actual event in a
persons life will really be based on the choices that a person makes based on his/her free will.
