We would like to thank and welcome you to the Palliative & Home Care Education Program, through the
National Home Care Initiative Project, which was launched in June 2016.
The program offers a wide range of educational and training opportunities designed for different levels of
skills for health care professionals as well as for family caregivers and volunteers.
The educational curriculum is designed and reviewed by a well trained and experienced health care
professionals from the field, and will be delivered using a variety of proven effective methods in education
and training. In addition there are many practical and clinical elements beside the classroom education.
The main objective of the program is to develop a critical mass of health care professionals and caregivers
who can effectively manage patients in different health care settings specially at home in order to alleviate
suffering and improve quality of life of patients and families.
There is no much reward like relieving human agony and by joining us today we assure you that you made
the right choice, and we wish you a successful career & life path.

Project Objectives
The National Home Care Initiative aims to:
1. Improve the quality of life and alleviate suffering of patients who are facing physical disability due to illness, and
relieve the burden on families and caregivers.
2. Develop an effective home care workforce and pioneers by building capacity of health care professionals at the
public, university and private heath care services.
3. Improve the quality of home care service provision.
4. Improve health care access to patients at their residents and communities where they live.
5. Reduce burden on hospitals by freeing more acute care beds and reduce the number of unnecessary emergency
room visits and admissions.
6. Build a national economic model, to reduce unnecessary health care costs and expenditures.

Program Information
Goal
Caring for patients at home who have disabilities or in advanced stages of disease is challenging to health
care professionals as well as to families and caregivers. It requires a deep understating of patients needs
and attending to various domains of care including medical, practical, psychosocial and spiritual needs.
The educational program for health care professionals will deliver various basic and advanced knowledge
and allow to incorporate knowledge learned in clinical practice.
Target Audience
The educational program will be of interest to all health care professionals from various specialties and
disciplines, including physicians, nurses, physical and occupational therapists and pharmacists.
Certification/Accreditation
1. All participants will receive a certificate of completion, at the end of each course.
2. Participants can receive continuous medical education credits (CMEs) for physicians, or continuous nursing credits
(CNEs) for nurses.
3. For registered nurses (RNs), all courses are accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), a
certificate will be provided.
4. Our Diploma is in collaboration with the University of Jordan and accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education.
