thank you for participating in the Vyzor G-Major 2 editor software beta test.
In this Read Me you will find the latest information about the Vyzor editor software for your G-Major2 and some basic
Instructions.
Please read this documentation carefully and also refer to the included .pdf manuals that can be accessed
from the softwares manuals menu.

The documentation inlcuded with the software is currently for the G-system editor, but can be
easily transferred to your G-Major 2. Once the software is released an updated manual for the G-Major 2will be
included with the download.

Currently the Vst and AU Plug-Ins are not included in this beta and will be available at a later point once the
software has been released.
- G-major 2 software 1.02 R222 is needed for all parameters to be transferred to and from the editor.

3. a) Installing the Vyzor G-Major 2 editor software on your PC:

These instructions will help you to get your G-Major 2 software and running as fast as possible - simply follow the
steps below :

1. Unzip and start the Vyzor G-Major2 0.95 Setup.exe

2. Now, you can simply follow the instruction on your screen, start with clicking on NEXT.

3. You have to accept the TC ELECTRONIC SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT to continue the
installation

4. Select the destination folder for the Vyzor G-Major2 editor software

5. Confirm the installtion path and press install to begin installation.

6. Finally, please hit the FINISH button to complete the installation

7. start the software and select your Midi in- and out ports

8. Select your Midi interface from the list of available devices and repeat the procedure for the Midi
Out port.

9. After your G-Major 2 has been detected it will import your existing user presets into the bank view

3. b) Installing the Vyzor G-Major 2 editor software on MAC:

1. Download and double-click the Vyzor G-Major2 0.95 Pkg.zip. file

2. double-click on the Vyzor G-Major 2 0.95.Pkg icon on your desktop to start installer and follow the
instruction on screen

3. You have to accept the TC ELECTRONIC SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT to continue the
installation

4. Select the destination folder for the Vyzor G-Major2 editor software

5. in order to install the software under Mac OSX you will need to enter your admin password
before the installation process can begin.

6. close the installer window after the installer has been finished

7. Start the editor from your applications folder and select your Midi in and out ports

8. Select your Midi In and out ports from the editors MIDI menu

By default, Vyzor G-Major will automatically GET (upload) your G-Systems user bank, global settings and
current preset every time you launch the program.
The Vyzor G-System editor is very protective of the user presets stored in your G-Major 2s onboard User Bank:
Although you will hear changes in real-time whenever you work with the editor, Vyzor will never overwrite a User
Bank Preset on your G-System without warning you first with a chance to cancel the operation.

4. Introduction:
Getting Started With Vyzor G-Major 2 editor
Part 1: Making the Connection
Physically connecting your G-Major2 to your computers Midi interface and powering them both up is the first step.
The Midi out of your computer needs to be connected to the Midi in of the G-Major and the Midi out of G-Major 2 to
the Midi In of your computer.
Next you'll run Vyzor G-Major2 for the first time and the program will set up the MIDI In and MIDI Out ports that it
uses to communicate with your G-Major2. By default, this process is entirely automatic:
Immediately after the program has configured itself on start-up, it will request all the data from your GSystem
where it will be available for navigation, editing, auditioning and (of course) saving to your

computers hard drive and other storage media. These saved files are called Sets, and each one is essentially a backup
G-Major 2 user bank waiting to be restored to life as either a virtual G-Major2 when loaded in the editor, or as a real
G-Major2 when it is transmitted (or SYNCed) to the physical device connected to the software.
1. The Bank view: load,organise and transfer presets to your G-Major 2

Right clicking on preset name calls up additional function to transfer selected presets or the entire bank to your Gmajor2.
The Bank Editor is a view into a virtual User Bank of 100 G-Major2 presets that serves several purposes:
Firstly, it allows you to select new presets for editing by clicking on them.
Secondly, it allows you to reorganize the presets within the editors bank area with drag and drop operations, and
thirdly it allows you to send selected presets to your G-Major2 where they will replace the corresponding locations
in its onboard user bank, and allows you to request selected presets from your G-Majors onboard preset bank.
By default, drag and drop will swap the source preset with the destination. CTRL-C (Option-C on Mac) will
copy the current selection to the clipboard and CTRL-V (Option-V on Mac) will paste it back over any new
selections you make; SHIFT-Drag will insert the source after the destination, and it will also move back the
bank entries in between the two in order to fill the hole left behind by the source.

When you are working in the Vyzor G-Major 2 editor you are operating on copies of preset data from
your G-Major2, and not on the original data itself.

This means you are free to rewrite the currently loaded set in the editor window from top to bottom and unless you
SYNC the User Bank back to the G-System at the end of your session, your original bank of 100 user presets on board
the device will remain safely untouched.
Likewise, when you load a preset for editing through the Vyzor GUI, only the G-Majors editing buffer is
updated with the edited preset data. This allows G-Major to constantly audition your changes to the
current preset so you can test out each edit you make in real-time. Unless you press the Sync Preset to G-Major button
within the editor GUI, the edited preset will not be written to your G-Major 2s permanent
memory in its onboard User Preset Bank.
There are three great advantages to this approach that are not possible in simpler direct editor programs:
1. G-Majors User Bank is protected from accidental overwriting at all times,
2. Every set file you load into the editor gives your G-Major2 an entirely new User Bank without first
erasing any part of G-Majors onboard User Bank, and
3. You can safely audition any preset from any part of the software by single-clicking on preset entries within the user
bank or the collection view (which well cover shortly).

Auditioning Explained
Vyzor refers to the process of loading a preset to the devices editing buffer as Auditioning the
preset. This makes sense if you think about it from the perspective of your G-Major 2: Every
preset you load into G-Majors editing buffer will change G-Major 2s influence on your guitar
sound, and this will be an audible difference.
As was mentioned earlier, Vyzor G-Major does not work directly within the user bank of GSystem,
and you should not make the mistake of treating the user bank loaded into the editor
as the actual user bank within your G-Major2 . As you edit presets and rearrange them within
the editors user bank, it will fall out of synchronization with the user bank on G-Major, so
always remember to SYNC any entries to G-Major if you want them reflected in the devices
onboard user bank!
2. The Global view: setup of global parameters, Midi parameters and custom program mapping

The Global Mode gives you access to all the universal settings that apply no matter which preset is active.
Besides basic operational parameters such as G-Majors MIDI channel, tuner mode and Guitar Input
Selection (to name only a few), G-Major customizations like the User Preset Program Map and Switch
assignment set-up are also editable here.

Be careful in this mode: Unlike the Preset and Banks modes of the editor, any changes you
make in the Global mode will be instantly applied to your G-Major2.

3. The Collection view:

The collection view is the most useful of the three optional views: The collection acts as a global listing of
your favorite presets and global settings that remains available no matter which set file you have currently
opened. This property makes the Collection View as equally useful as both a transfer clipboard and a master library of
individual set components. Collection view can activated from the Options menu of the editor.

Tip: Importing the factory presets to the collection view

If you start without any user presets and want some preset material as a starting base for your own preset creations try
the following:
1) Load the factory presets set file into your current bank file (press ctrl + O and select the Factory set.SQS file)
2) Now you will load the 100 factory presets into your editors edit buffer
3) Now select a preset, press ctrl+A (select all presets ) and drag them into the collection
view where the setting are now permanently available regardless on which bank you are working
4) now press Ctrl + N to create a new (empty) bank
5) the software will ask you wether you want to store the changes to the factory set. Press no

Since we just imported them to our collection view we have now direct access to the factory settings anyway
This is great as you can use them as a starting base for your own preset creations and just drag and drop them to a
memory location of your bank at any point and tweak them to your liking. The collection view
Is always available regardless of which bank/set you are working with
If you are happy with your edit, rename preset and save them to the bank file. If you want a particular preset
to be stored in the user bank of your G-Major2 hardware dont forget to sync them.
To audition a preset from the collection view just click on it. No need to drag it into the bank view first!
To delete a preset from the collection view, select it and press Delete or select preset, right click and choose clear.

The Preset All Mode view: edit all fx parameters in one window
The first time you open the Vyzor G-System editor, youll see that the All mode selector is activated. This
mode applies to the currently loaded preset, and as you can see it shows all of the current preset parameters
in a very compact and organized manner.

The Preset Detail Mode:

As efficient as the Preset:All mode is, it does present a lot of choices packed into a tight space. For those
who prefer a visual editor with greater focus, Vyzor G-System offers a visually friendly Preset Detail mode for
each of the effects on board your G-Major2. Unlike the hardware Compressor, Noise Gate and EQ share
one view for setting parameters under the DynIEQ tab.

5. Troubleshooting:
I got an error message saying Vyzor couldnt find G-System! What do I do now?
If the editor software was unable to find your G-Major 2 on launch and/or you were forced to cancel the
transfer operation because nothing was happening, you have a connection problem. Assuming youve
followed the set-up diagram on page 1, this connection is likely Windows driver related. Please check out the
Vyzor G-Major 2 Troubleshooting PDF file, available for instant reading gratification from the applications
Manuals menu.

Error Cant open Midi (In / Out) Port XXXX. Driver may already be in use.
This error message will be encountered in Windows XP and Vista when some other application on your
computer is already using a MIDI Port that Vyzor has attempted to open for Autosensing. This MIDI port
obviously has a single-client driver, and cannot be shared by two separate programs unfortunately.
Your two options are as follows:
1. Close the other program and do not use it when Vyzor is running, or
2. Reconfigure Vyzor G-System for manual MIDI Port operation.

ERROR! SysEx Data is Missing Bytes! SYSX DATA IS MISSING BYTES ERRORS
SysX data is missing bytes! errors will occur whenever G-System fails to return the correct amount of data
to Vyzor for any given request. In the example shown above, two of these errors have occurred during a GET operation,
each one indicating that a preset was not fully received by Vyzor.
This error message can be received under a number of circumstances: Either the MIDI interface has dropped some of
the data sent by G-System, or if you are on Windows XP, the operating system has lost some of the data coming in
through the USB driver while it was busy performing tasks in other running applications.
Here are two possible solutions to correct this error under the circumstances described above:
1. If you are on Windows XP and have a slower machine try not to disturb the upload by switching
between Vyzor G-System and other applications. This is a windows issue.
2. Your 3rd party MIDI Interface cannot handle the SysEx message traffic generated by G-System and
the editor software. Please check to see if your particular model is one of the known offenders at
www.Vyzor.com and if not, please post a request for help on our online forum.

Multi client operation under Windows XP and Vista:

Windows XP and Vista users should take note that if multi-client MIDI operation is required (i.e. you require
several music software applications to access G-Major2 simultaneously), a USB interface that uses the
Windows class compliant USB MIDI driver is not sufficient for this application (On Mac OSX this is not a
problem). G-Systems built-in USB MIDI port uses the class-compliant driver, incidentally.
If your USB interface appears as USB Audio Device (on Windows XP) and/or does not require
specific drivers from the interface manufacturer, these are indications that your interface
relies on the Windows class-compliant USB MIDI driver and is therefore not capable of multiclient
operation. You will not be able to run a DAW program to access your G-System through
this interface while the editor is open and vice-versa.
If your USB MIDI device is in fact provided with a single client driver, this is still acceptable for use with the
Vyzor software Just bear in mind that youll need to make sure that no other programs are using the driver
when you launch the Vyzor editor software.

Some parameters are not transferred from the Editor to my G-Major 2 user bank
Make sure you are using latest G-Major Beta software 1.02 R222 that is required for the editors full featureset to work
with your G-Major 2. The update is available via the TC forum or by request via e-mail .

6. last additons / new features:

1. Tap Tempo control:
if you want to adjust your Fx settings to match a specific tempo the new Tap tempo feature of the editor will become
quite handy.
It works on preset level, but its also possible to set your G-Majors Tap master parameter on the Global
Page / setup to TAP which will then act global and all time-based parameters to the new tempo.
By default your G-major 2s TAP MASTER parameter is set to PRESET
For more infos please refer to your G-major 2 manual.

Please note that delay times and Modulation speeds need to be set to a note value for them to be auto updated whenever
the tempo changes.

TAP TEMPO feature wont work when your G-Major is slaved to a Midi clock! (Midi clock sync parameter can be
found in the G-Majors MIDI menu /GLOBAL view)

In the Setup section of the Global view youll find another parameter that affects how the Tap tempo feature behaves.
By default TAP MASTER is set to PRESET, meaning that each preset can have its own tempo
and changing it wont affect any other presets.

Tap Master
Preset: The tempo will be set to the value stored as part of each G-Major 2 preset.
Tap: The tempo will follow the Global tapped tempo.

2. Saving/sharing single preset files

Apart from saving the entire user bank inluding all presets, the editor has a new feature that allows you to save single
preset files to your harddisk and at a later point it will be possible to upload and share your presets with other G-major 2
users to the TC electronic G-major 2 preset vault on the TC electronic website.

For now you can save your favourite presets to your harddisk and share the Files via E-mail with other users.
If you want certain presets available at all times, just put them into the Collection view, so you can just drag it to a user
memory location in bank view without having to open the file via the preset file dialog.
Presets can be easily arranged by dragging and dropping them to memory location in the bank view.

3. Guitar Tuner display

The Editor has a graphical repesentation of the G-Major 2 TUNER that works in realtime.

Toggleing the Tuner via the on/off switch in the Tuner display equals the SEND TUNER parameter of your GMajors Global menu.

4. DYN I EQ combined insert FX view for Compressor, Gate and EQ

Unklike your G-major 2 hardware where the Compressor exists as a separate FX block and Gate + EQ are located in
another, the editor has a combined EDIT view for those 3 FX called DYN I EQ.
