ChineseGovernmentScholarshiprecipientsshouldapplyforavisatostudyinChinatotheChineseembassyorconsulate
generalwiththeoriginaldocumentsandphotocopiesoftheAdmissionLetter,VisaApplicationforStudyinChina(JW201),
ForeignerPhysicalExaminationFormandvalidordinarypassport.ThosewhowillstudyinChinaformorethan6months
mustapplyforX1visa,andthosewhowillstudyinChinaforlessthan6months(including6months)canapplyforX2visa.
StudentswhocometoChinawithothertypesofpassports,visasorwithouttheoriginaldocumentswillnotbeabletoregister
withinstitutions,norwilltheybeabletoapplyfortheresidencepermitinChina.
Visaapplicationcostisatstudentsownexpense.

ChineseGovernmentScholarshiprecipientsneedtoreachthehostuniversitiesforregistrationontheirown.Fornew
scholarshipstudentswhohavegenuinedifficultiesofarrivinginthecitiesoftheiruniversitiesandneedastopoverinBeijing,
CSCcouldprovidethemaTransferService.ApplicationforatransferserviceisrequestedtobesubmittedtoCSCthrough
Chineseembassyorconsulategeneral.
TransferServicewillbeavailablefromAugust25thtoSeptember15theachyear.
TransferServiceincludesapickupserviceatBeijingAirport,trainticketsreservation,necessaryaccommodationand
medicalservice.TrainticketfeesfromBeijingtodesignationcitywillbeatstudentsowncost.

1.Registration
ScholarshipstudentsmustregisterinthehostuniversitiesbeforethedeadlineoftheregistrationasspecifiedinAdmission
LetterwiththeoriginalAdmissionLetter,VisaApplicationforStudyinChina(JW201)andForeignerPhysical
ExaminationForm.Thosewhoareunabletoregisterontimemustgetpermissionfromthehostinstitutiondirectly.Thosewho
failtoregisterwithoutthepriorconsentoftheinstitutionwillbeconsideredasvoluntarilygivingupthescholarshipandthe
scholarshipwillbeautomaticallyterminated.
2.HealthVerificationandResidencePermit
HealthVerification:ScholarshipstudentswhoaretostayinChinaformorethan6monthsarerequestedtosubmitthe
originaldocumentsoftheirpassport,AdmissionLetter,ForeignerPhysicalExaminationFormandBloodTestReportto
thelocalhealthquarantineofficetohavetheirphysicalexaminationreportverified.Scholarshipstudentswhodonotmeetthe
requirementsoftheaboveauthoritywillberequiredtoretakethephysicalexamination.Thosewhorefusetoretakethe
physicalexaminationorarediagnosedwithdiseasesthatareunsuitedtostudyinChinaaccordingtoChineseLegalStudies
andregulationswillberequiredtoleaveChina.
ResidencePermit:Scholarshipstudentsmustapplyforresidencepermittothelocalpoliceauthoritywithin30daysupon
theirarrival.Necessarydocumentsareasfollows:passport,AdmissionLetter,VisaApplicationFormforStudyinChina
(JW201),verifiedhealthreport,andphotographthatmeetstheimagerequirementsoftheauthority.Stayingwithout
registrationisconsideredillegalandwillleadtofinesandpenalties.
IVApplicationforChange
Scholarshipstudentsarenotpermittedtochangetheiracademicprograms,hostuniversitiesorthedurationofstudy.Those
whoneedtochangeforspecialreasonsarerequiredtoapplytoCSCviatheirhostuniversities.
