POKA YOKE.

Poka Yoke significa A prueba de errores. Se basa en la idea de disear los procesos, mtodos,
herramientas, etc. para evitar que estos puedan ser defectuosos o causar defectos en los productos o servicios.
Se distinguen dos tipos de Poka Yoke:

Hard Poka Yoke: sistema que impide que se produzca el defecto

Soft Poka Yoke: sistema que alerta de la aparicin de un defecto.

Un ejemplo sencillo para entender el sistema Poka Yoke est en los cinturones de seguridad que se utilizan en el
coche. A dia de hoy las marcas de automviles han introducido este sistema para alertar y evitar que se conduzca
sin el cinturn puesto ya que cuando nos ponemos en marcha sin habernos abrochado el cinturn suena un pitido
intermitente que nos avisa y no cesa hasta que nos pongamos el cinturn. En este caso es un Soft Poka Yoke.
Un ejemplo de Hard Poka Yoke estara en la gestin de las luces que comienzan a tener los vehculos ms
modernos. Hasta hace no mucho tiempo era posible apagar el motor y dejarnos las luces encendidas y
encontrarnos cuando volviramos a utilizar el coche que nos hemos quedado sin batera. El sistema Hard Poka
Yoke impide que se d esta circunstancia ya que apaga automticamente las luces del coche cuando apagamos el
motor de nuestro vehculo.
Cuando nos encontremos un defecto debemos preguntarnos si podemos disear el proceso para evitar de forma
sistemtica su aparicin mediante un sistema a prueba de errores, Poka Yoke. Para ello debemos conocer la
causa de ese defecto, es decir, el error que lo produce e idear una forma de realizar el proceso sin fallo posible, o
al menos que nos avise si se puede producir el fallo.
Otro ejemplo: Taladradora que puede fallar creando un agujero mayor de lo requerido (dibujo de la izquierda),
podemos aadir una pieza para que mecnicamente impida el fallo (dibujo intermedio) o un sistema que nos
avise si nos pasamos con un interruptor (dibujo de la derecha):

Poka Yoke means "Error proofing". It is based on the idea of designing the processes, methods, tools, etc. to
prevent these may be defective or cause defects in products or services.

- Soft Poka Yoke: A system that warning of a defect.
A simple example to understand the Poka Yoke System is in the seat belts used in the car. To this day cars have
introduced this system to alert and prevent them from driving without a seat belt fastened because there is a
beeping sound that warning us until we fasten the belt. Here is a Soft Poka Yoke.
An example of a Poka Yoke Hard would be the modern cars lights. Until not long ago it was possible to turn off
the engine and let the lights on and when we returned to using the car we've run out of battery. The Hard Poka
Yoke system prevents this circumstance turning off the headlights automatically when we turn off the engine of our
vehicle.
When we find a defect must ask whether we can design the process to prevent their occurrence systematically
through a system foolproof, Poka Yoke. To do this we must know the cause of this defect, the error that occurs and
design a way to make the process without possible failure, or at least to notify us about the possible failure.
Another example: Drilling can fail creating a larger hole than required; we can add a piece to prevent
mechanical failure or a switch system to warning us.
