Second Semester Industrial Electricity

PREREQUISITES: Elect 200A
DESCRIPTION: 18 weeks, 8 Units, 6 hours lecture, 6 hours
lab. The operational theory, practice and electrical codes as
associated with Direct Current Motors and Generators. An
introduction to Alternating Current and AC circuits.
METHOD OF INSTRUCTION: The course will include
lectures, problem solving from designated chapter materials in
the course outline. Selected problems are the responsibility of
the student through homework assignments in accordance with
the course outline. .
REQUIRED TEXTS:
1. Delmar's Standard Textbook of Electricity; 2nd Edition,
Stephen L. Herman

National Fire Protection Association
LABORATORY ASSIGNMENTS: There will be a total of
16 lab assignments. Advanced topics labs are available for
extra credit Extra credit points will not be allowed until all of
the required labs have been completed. Each Lab assignment
must have a written or typed lab report that must include the
minimum of the following.
1. Cover sheet; containing Lab Title, date, student's name,
course name.
2. Procedure & drawing of circuit being tested.
3. Data Recorded.
4. Answers to the questions at the end of each lab
assignment.
5. Results, Graphs, Summary & Conclusion.
Lab write-ups on the lab assignment sheets will not be
accepted. Lab time is for hands on work, not paperwork. Do
your write ups out of class. On-Line lab reports will not be
accepted.
HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS: All assigned work is to be

infractions observed.
FORMULA SHEETS: A formula sheet may be used for the
exams. A single sheet of 8.5" x 11" paper with formulas on one
side only. This sheet is for formulas only. Examples, drawings,
problems, answers to problems or any other notations other than
formulas will cause the sheet to be removed from the student
before the exam.
GRADING PROCEDURES: The final course grade will be
determined by the tests, any quizzes given, labs, homework, and
attendance. Your grade will be based upon the following
