Most careers and essentially all STEM fields will require students to be proficient using a variety of
technological tools to solve problems, analyze data, create models, communicate complex information,
and construct viable arguments.
Students have access to smart phones, computers, and tablets in ways they never have before.
How can
we capitalize on this opportunity and make mathematics more engaging and visible to students? When is
a good time to use technology to enhance instruction and assessment? How can we provide meaningful
and immediate feedback to improve student learning, and reduce our workload?
During this three-day workshop, participants will explore practical, dynamic, and creative ways to
use technology in the mathematics classroom to enhance their curricula and provide students with
opportunities to create, explore, and demonstrate understanding.
The goals of the series are as follows:
Learn how to utilize technology tools to
enhance instruction and assessment in the
classroom, including an in-depth exploration of
Google Forms, Desmos, and GeoGebra
Leave with practical lesson ideas and ways to
implement technology in your own classroom
Explore ways to integrate technology into
current textbooks and resources
Networking opportunities with other grade 6-12
educators
