Unit 1 Learning Goal


I will be able to perform calculations incorporating the proper number of significant digits, perform unit
conversions and I will be able to apply scientific notation properly.
I will be able to define and distinguish between terms used commonly in chemistry.
I will be able to describe the atomic structure of an atom.
I will be able to list the contributions various scientists have made to develop an accepted model of the
atom.
I will be able to explain the relationship between the atomic number and the mass number of an element.
