Ryerson Campus

A variety of restaurants can be found on Elm Street, two short blocks north of Dundas. For the most part,
these locations are up-scale. Some of them may require reservations for dinner. More affordable fair can be
found throughout the campus area. For expedient eating, food courts are located in the Eaton Centre, AMC
plaza (on the third floor), and Atrium on Bay (accessed via Yonge).

Adega Restaurante – 33 Elm Street (416.977.4338)

Specializes in seafood served in Spanish and Portuguese styles. Features extensive Portuguese wine list. Serves
both lunch and dinner. Reservations recommended. (Mains $20+)

Oro – 45 Elm Street (416.597.0155)

Chef Stanley Yung’s sophisticated take on northern Italian cooking. Offers Neo-Italian Mediterranean cuisine,
specializing in seafood. Serves lunch and dinner. (Mains $20+).

Bangkok Garden – 18 Elm Street (416.977.6748)

Offering Thai cuisine since 1982. Awarded Best Thai in Toronto by a number of reviewers. Closed Sundays.
Serves lunch and dinner. (Mains $17+).

Queen and Beaver Public House – 35 Elm Street (647.347.2712)

Classic British dishes made from scratch and prepared by British Chef Andrew Carter. Extensive wine list and
selection of cask-conditioned ales. Not many vegetarian options regularly available. Patio and bar within.
Serves lunch and dinner. (Mains $15+)

Guu Izakaya – 398 Church Street (416.977.0999)

Offers Japanese Tapas (no sushi). Diverse menu of unique dishes, as well as classics, such as Udon noodles.
Closed Sundays. Dinner only (Mains $12+)

Senator Restaurant – 249 Victoria Street (416.364.7517)

This sophisticated diner, open since 1948, welcomes patrons with checkered floors and dark wood booths,
offering such diner classics as homemade meat loaf, fish and chips and crab cakes. All-day breakfast is also
served. Serves lunch and dinner – lunch only on Sundays and Mondays (Mains $12+)

Vegetarian/Vegan Buffet that offers fresh, affordable, healthy-eating. Also features a fresh-squeezed juice bar.

Japango Sushi and Noodle Restaurant – 122 Elizabeth Street (416.599.5557)

Moderately priced sushi that is quickly prepared for either dine-in or take-out. Also offers bento boxes, as

Spadina Garden Restaurant – 116 Dundas Street West (416.977.4699)

Specializing in Szechuan, Hunan & Peking Cuisine. Serves lunch and dinner. Dinner only on Sundays (Mains

Chipotle Mexican Grill – 323 Yonge Street (416.596.8600)

Generously sized Burritos are a favourite of students on a budget. Vegetarian and meat options available.
Serves lunch and dinner. (Mains $9).

University of Toronto Campus


Two short blocks south of Bloor is Harbord Street, where you'll find a strip of diverse, gourmet restaurants.
Many may require reservations. Bloor Street also hosts a variety of restaurants. To the east of campus is the
Yorkville community of upscale restaurants and to the west is the more student-friendly community of
eateries for the budget-conscious.

Splendido Bar and Grill – 88 Harbord Street (416.929.7788)

One of Toronto's most highly rated restaurants. Serving guests high quality, seasonal, locally sourced, family
farmed products that have been traditionally prepared. Reservations recommended. Serves dinner. Closed
Sundays (Mains $30+)

Tati Bistro – 124 Harbord Street (416.962.8284)

Styled after Jacques Tati, Tati highlights traditional bistro classics of French cuisine. Steak Frites is their most
popular dish. Their pasta menu offers vegetarian selections. Serves dinner (Mains $18+).

Upscale, yet warm and inviting restaurant offering modern interpretation of classic Middle Eastern cuisine.
Serves dinner (Mains $17+)

Relaxed, informal dining, featuring pub-fare classics with a twist. Serves lunch and dinner. (Mains $12+)

Serves authentic Peruvian and Latin American cuisine. Cozy and romantic, the Boulevard is a neighbourhood
favourite, as well as a sliver of South America in the heart of Toronto. Serves lunch and dinner. (Mains $11+

Around the AGO (Monday's Screening)

Baldwin Street can be reached by walking a few blocks north of Dundas on McCaul Street (where the Art
Gallery of Ontario is located). Baldwin is lined with restaurants. Some popular choices include Jodhpore Club,
which offers Indian, John's Italian Cafe, and Bocca, also offering Italian. These restaurant cater to all budgets.

China Town can be reached by walking west on Dundas Street and continuing north on Spadina. There, you'll
find a huge variety of Asian restaurants. Favourites include Mother's Dumplings (421 Spadina Avenue) and
Asian Legend (418 Dundas Street) – both of which are appropriate for the budget-conscious.

Queen Street is to the South of the AGO and also features a large number of restaurants and bars.
