Many students feel that AP Seminar is a useless class, given its lack of
grading and inability to give credit. AP Seminar allows a student to work on
homework and efficiently manage their time. It provides an extra working period to
help cut back on the daily workload in a students life. Another benefit is that it can
also act as a free period in a students busy schedule. A mental break can be quite
useful among more rigorous courses such as AP Calculus, AP Physics, or AP
Literature. This break can help students with anxiety or stress, giving them time to
regroup and recollect their thoughts. Finally, one of the more important reasons is
the extra time for studying. Many students have very little time to study at night
due to excessive workloads given each day. AP Seminar can be used to get any last
minute memorizations in especially if it is right before the class. AP Seminar is
clearly a beneficial class in which any hardworking and focused student should take.
