descriptive words.

words.

i.

Ex: Dragon is associated with fire. Intensity and quick movements to

avoid flames from dragon is needed in the piece.
3. Teacher will ask certain sections to demonstrate certain words based off of the
descriptive words. First, a very generic version of a few bars followed by the descriptive
version.
4. The teacher will give each student a picture of a dragon and color in and label the
dragon according to the words on the chalkboard. Students will keep this picture in their
folder to refer for visual learning before they play the piece during rehearsals.
5. After several rounds of students have been asked, the teacher will ask to play measures

Extra Procedure: A story can be made by the students as an extra activity if time allows.

Assessment: The students will be assessed by showing signs of understanding by writing

words to describe a piece of music for the advanced students and matching techniques or ways
to show a certain object. For younger students, an informal assessment will be given by asking
each student certain ways to make a piece more musical by giving different techniques.
