isdriven.ATrunkOpenmessagemaybedisplayedintheDriverInformationCenter.

Theunwantedtrunkopeningconditionwasaddressedearlierbyinstallingatwoshotrelayrequiringthatthekey
fobtrunkreleasebuttonbepressedtwicetoopenthetrunk.Now,for2014modelyearvehicles,reprogramming
theBodyControlModule(BCM)willprovideapressandholdtrunkreleasefunctiononthekeyfob.Prior
modelyearvehiclesstillrequirethetwoshotrelay(referto#PI0924B).

PressandHold

Tocorrecttheunwantedtrunkopeningcondition,reprogramtheBCMwiththelatestcalibrationsavailableon
TIS2Web.Thenewcalibrationwillchangetheamountoftimerequiredtoholdthetrunkreleasebuttononthe
keyfobfrom200ms,whichisinstantopen,toa1secondholdinordertoexecuteatrunkreleaseevent.Referto
theBCMProgrammingandSetupprocedureintheappropriateServiceInformationforprogramming
information.

condition,thetrunkwillnotopenasexpectedafterBCMreprogrammingbecauseitnowtakestwo1second
pressesofthekeyfobtoopenthetrunk.Therearcompartmentrelaymustbechangedbacktofactorysingle
pressrelay.Thiscanbeconfirmedbyinvestigatingvehiclewarrantyhistoryforlaboroperation2680118.

AfterreprogrammingtheBCMforanyreason,explaintocustomersthattheynowhavethe1secondpressand
holdkeyfobfunctiontoopenthetrunk.

trunkreleasecontrol.

InstalltheTwoShotRelayadjacenttotheBCMandattachatagtotherelaymarkedTwoShotTrunkRelay
perBulletinPI0924.Forfuturediagnosisofaninoperativetrunkrelease,thisrelayinstallationmustbe
identifiedbeforeaBCMisreplaced.
