Former Special Assistant to the NTSB Board
Derrek will discuss some accident investigations he was involved with
during his time at the National Transportation Safety Board, including working on the investigation of American Airlines Flight 587 which is the second deadliest aviation accident to occur on US soil. In addition he will give a behind the scenes look at how the NTSB conducts investigations and reaches outcomes. Derrek Hofrichter served as a Special Assistant to a Board Member of the NTSB from 2003 - 2005. In this position he assisted NTSB Board Members, including the Vice Chairman of the NTSB, with their role in determining the cause and outcomes of transportation accidents in the Unites States.
