VALUES ARE
1. LOVE: The first important value in life is love. It is an important personal value to open your
mind to the concept of love. The way in which you love your family, friends and you can love
everybody. For me I think love means caring, kindness, respecting, understanding, giving, and
wanting to make each other dreams come through.
2. RESPECT: The second step of values in life is respect. It is very important to have respect for
people. A very important fact about respect is that the more we give the more we earn. Respect is
an emotion that is expressed to feel or show a deferential regard towards someone or something. It
is an esteem for the worth or excellence of a person's quality or ability or also something that is
considered as a manifestation of the ability.
3. UNDERSTANDING: This is most important values of life is understanding. We see a lot of
people around us holding grudges and keeping tempers. Understanding is the key a happy mind
and a caring heart. If we are ready to understand and accept people and circumstances for what
they are we gain control over it. Understanding that people are doing their best and instead of
questioning try and find our ways to help them out.
4. DISCIPLINE: The fourth important values is discipline. Discipline is the act of training someone
to obey rules or certain behaviors. It can also be used to describe the actual process of training
others or yourself to follow certain rules and regulations. A disciplined person will have a lot have
fun but it will make sure that he completes his duties.
5. HONESTY: The fifth or last value is honesty. Honesty is admitting to our self that we are not
perfect. It means to avoid our mistakes. That is the only way in which they will affect our life for
the better Honesty is being truthful, genuine, sincere, trustworthy, loyal, fair, and upright. An
honest person tells the truth and does not lie, cheat, or steal. An honest person does not hide
anything. A person who is honest is frank and straightforward
VALUE EDUCATION:

Value Based Education.
The subject that enables us to understand what is valuable for human happiness is called value
education.
Value education is important to help everyone in improving the value system that he/she holds and
puts it to use.
Once, one has understood his/ her values in life he/she can examine and control the various choices
he/she makes in his/ her life.
Value education enables us to understand our needs and visualize our goals correctly and also helps
to remove our confusions and contradictions and bring harmony at all levels.
PROCESS OF VALUE EDUCATION.
1. INDIVIDUAL LEARNING: This is the highly interactive way of learning the values. This is
very personal one to one interaction with the learner. Students can raise the questions and clear the
doubts without any hesitation of the peer group. They feel more secure and attentive. the basics
drawback of this learning is that student lack group dynamics. Student should learn the things in
group as well
2. PROJECT LEARNING: This is one of the best methods of learning. Here students are allowed
to gain their natural experiments through the series of live projects. Students are handed over the
projects and expected to be completed in time frame. The projects are related with real life
problems and students need to find out the solution on the basis of their values. This teaches the
concept of self discipline and cooperation
3. OPEN LEARNING: Open learning is a method that teaching among others. This method was
based upon to overcome the shortcomings of traditional methods of learning. It is based upon
independent, self determined and interest guided learning
4. GROUP LEARNING: This is best method to enhance the team building skills. The group is
always from individual working. Some students are scored poor and some are scored well with
interacting other students. Its lack interpersonal skills. This is two way communications which
teaches cooperation collaboration and coordination among the various members in a group.
BASIC GUIDELINES FOR VALUE EDUCATION
1. Universal: It needs to be applicable to all the human beings irrespective of cast, faith,
nationalities, religion, etc., for all times and regions.
2. Rational: It has to appeal to human reasoning. It has to be amenable to reasoning and not based
on blind beliefs.
3. Natural and verifiable: It has to be naturally acceptable to the human being who goes through
the course and when we live on the basis of such values it leads to our happiness. It needs to be
experientially verifiable, and not based on dogmas, beliefs or assumptions.
4. All encompassing: Value education is aimed at transforming our consciousness and living.
Hence, it needs to cover all the dimensions (thought, behaviour, work and realization) and levels
(individual, family, society, nature and existence) of human life and profession.
5. Leading to harmony: The value education ultimately is targeted to promote harmony within the
individual, among human beings and with nature.
Hence, it has to encompass understanding of harmony at various levels and finally, learning
to live in accordance with this understanding by being vigilant to ones thoughts, behaviour
and work.
SELF EXPLORATION.
Self exploration is the process to find out what is valuable to me by investigating within myself,
what is right for me, true for me, has to be judged within myself.
Through self exploration we get the value of our self. We live with different entirety (family,
friends, air, soil, water, trees, etc.) and we want to understand our relationship with all these.
For this we need to start observing inside. The main focus of self-exploration is I - the human being.
Content of self exploration is just finding answers to the following fundamental questions of all
human beings:
1. The Desire/Goal: What is my (human) Desire/ Goal? What do I really want in life, or what
is the goal of human life?
2. Program: What is my (human) program for fulfilling the desire? How to fulfill it? What is
the program to actualize the above?
NATURAL ACCEPTANCE
Natural acceptance is a mechanism of self exploration. Self exploration is a method to explore our
self.
Natural acceptance is process to understand our self first. Natural acceptance implies unconditional
and total acceptance of the self, people and environment.
It also refers to the absence of any exception from others. In other words, Natural acceptance is way
to accept the good things naturally.
Experiential validation is a process that infuses direct experience with the learning environment and
content.
It may be regarded as a philosophy and methodology in which the direct experience and focused
reflection of the individual helps to increase knowledge, develop skill and clarify values.
Most of what we know about our self is not only through our own opinion of our self but also
because of how others view us.
PROCESS OF SELF-EXPLORATION
Self exploration is the process to find out what is valuable to me by investigating within myself,
what is right for me, true for me, has to be judged within myself. Through self exploration we get
the value of our self.
First of all we have to keep in mind that, whatever is being presented is a PROPOSAL.
1. Dont assume it to be true immediately, nor reject it without proper exploration.
2. Verify it in your own right, on the basis of it being naturally acceptable to you,
SWANTANTRATA
SWARAJYA
Self exploration is a process of dialogue between what you are and what you really want to
be. Explain
1. Self exploration is the process to find out what is valuable to me by investigating within myself,
what is right for me, true for me, has to be judged within myself.
2. Through self exploration we get the value of our self. It is a process of focusing attention on our
self, our present beliefs and aspirations vis--vis what we really want to be (that is to say, what is
naturally acceptable to us).
3. If these two are the same, then there is no problem. If on investigation we find that these two are
not the same, then it means we are living with this contradiction (of not being what we really want
to be) and hence, we need to resolve this contradiction this conflict within us.
4. It is a process of discovering that there is something innate, invariant and universal in all human
beings.
5. This enables us to look at our confusions and contradictions within and resolve them by becoming
aware of our natural acceptance.
It is becoming anti-ecological and anti-people, and threatening the human survival itself. For
prosperity, two things are required1. Identification of the required quantity of physical facilities, and
2. Ensuring availability / production of more than required physical facilities.
DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN PROSPERITY AND WEALTH WITH EXAMPLES.
1. Prosperity is a feeling of having more than required physical facilities; it is not just physical
facilities.
2. Almost all of us feel that wealth alone means prosperity and try to explain this phenomenon on
this nonexistent or half fact.
3. Wealth is a physical thing. It means having money, or having a lot of physical facilities or both.
4. This is a very important distinction. We mostly fail to make this distinction today. We keep
working for wealth, without realizing that the basic desire is for the feeling of prosperity, to have a
feeling of having enough. P
5. Prosperity is more acceptable to because wealth is just a part of prosperity. We are trying to
achieve happiness and prosperity by maximizing accumulation and consumption of physical
facilities.
PRESENT VISION OF A HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS LIFE
