Security training for seafarers with

designated security duties

Target group

Seafarers who are not appointed as Ship Security Officer but charged with tight
security tasks according to the Ship Security Plan should be in possession of the
certificate Designated Security Duties.

Requirements

In possession of certificate security awareness training for all seafarers

Content

According to the requirements of STCW section A-VI / 6 and is compiled based on

IMO model course 3.26 and 3.27.
Knowledge of:

significance and consequences of the different security levels;

knowledge of the Ship Security Plan, the procedures and precautions

(including procedures regarding access to the ship);

observe and recognize security risks;

observe and recognize, on a non-discriminatory basis, of characteristics

and behavioral patterns of persons who are likely to threaten security;

techniques used to circumvent security measures;

Knowledge of documentation regarding the security (including the

'security certificate' (DoS);

knowledge of search and non-intrusive inspections;

knowledge of various security equipment on board.

Duration

1 day.
Lessons are from 08.30 till 16.30 hour.

315,- incl. books, lecture notes, lunch and certificate. Price is excl. VAT.

Certification

Upon successful completion (positive assessment) of the course the certificate

Security training for seafarers with designated security duties will be issued.
STC BV is recognized by the Netherlands Shipping Inspectorate under the code
NL007.

Remarks

Pre submit: a passport photograph (Name + date of birth listed on back), extract
individual register or enlarged copy passport.
The course can be taken in English.
