Moses forbade work but did not give many specifics (Ex 20:10)

Rabbis filled Judaism with elaborate rituals for the Sabbath

Should Christians keep the Sabbath or are we free not to keep it?

Jesus shows that human need surpasses the importance of religious ritual

Ahimelech, not Abiathar, was the High Priest at the time (1 Sam 21:1-6)

They suspecting he would help the man from what they knew of Jesus
These men were unaffected by Word and caught up with controversy

He knew their thoughts (Luke 6:8) and will heal the man and teach them all
Jesus looked at them with anger for their hardness of heart in this
Legalism blinds us and grieves God - misuse of law
Jesus gave impossible command to put forth his hand! What does this show us?
The Pharisees conspired with the Herodians why is this unusual on their part?

The Twelve = Jesus desired those He called - WOW!
The Relationship = 1st in priority and purpose
The Message = We have a message once we have been with Jesus
The Ministry = In the valley after the mountain

Jesus Family thought He was out of His Mind 20-21
The multitude found Jesus at the house (v.19 in NKJV)
Jesus own family thought His zeal was insanity
The misunderstanding of Jesus family bolsters the Scriptures

From the Scribes accusation we can conclude what was taking place with Jesus
Beelzebub - = Baal Zebul (lord of filth and hostile spirits)

Parables make think they were not being rational yet they were Scribes
Parables are vehicles for a lesson not to be a strict doctrine whats this lesson?

Truly I say to you = an introduction with severity for importance of his words
Blasphemy = generally speech, thought, or action manifesting contempt for God
Jesus had been accused of blasphemy on other occasions in various contexts
When he forgave sins of paralytic (Mk 2:7)
When he testified that He was Son of God (Mk 14:62-65)
When he claimed oneness with the Fathers essence - thus divinity (Jn 10:33)

What cant be forgiven if one confesses and repents - is this to insult the Spirit?
They had not yet committed this sin but were warned because they were close

The bond in Gods family often is deeper than biological family if without Christ
This reveals two important aspects regarding Mary, the mother of Jesus
