On Sunday, Dec.11,
we will celebrate
50 Years on the Hill
with a special
worship service at
10 AM and
showcase a
Celebration of
Wreaths made by
YOU, the individuals
and households of
St. Johns. This wreath is made from
clothespins and tea bags very simple! Start
thinking and assembling now how would you
be represented? Wreaths will be displayed all
of advent throughout St. Johns and should not
necessarily be a reflection of the season.
Contact Pr. Justin or Carol Waggoner for more
information.

The Lutheran World Relief InGathering is coming

November 7-10, 9am 1pm each day. We are in
need of helpers to receive boxes from area
churches and get them loaded on the truck. The
boxes are of limited weight, but we do need some
muscle! If you would be available, please sign up
on todays Registration Slip or call the office @
402-371-1985.
Noisy Offering, being collected at all services
next weekend, is used to help defray the cost of
shipping quilts, school kits, and sewing kits to
where they are most needed. Please remember
to bring your change (and quiet, folding money)
to worship next weekend!

BENEFACTION BOARD
Every year Mercy Meals of Norfolk has a packing
event that involves volunteers from a wide area
surrounding Norfolk. Our goal is to pack a large
amount of meals that will be shipped around the
world and within our own country to combat
malnutrition. This involves a huge investment with
the purchase of all the materials needed to pack
thousands of meals.
We are so thankful for generous donors such as St.
Johns Benefaction Board who gave Mercy Meals
$2500.00 for the purchase of these supplies. This
donation helped purchase enough supplies to pack
20,000 meals. Many thanks in fighting world
hunger.
MERCY MEALS OF NORFOLK

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PART

IN FIGHTING WORLD HUNGER
On Sunday, October 16th, members from
St. Johns once again participated in the
MERCY MEALS PACK AWAY
HUNGER DAY held at Divots DeVent
Center.
MERCY MEALS, in partnership with the
Orphan Grain Train along with the help of
donors and volunteers makes a difference in
the lives of children throughout the world.
Where there is poverty, there is hunger.
Every year more than 3 million children
under the age of 5 die from malnutrition.
This year our 3 teams from St. Johns packed
over 10,000 MERCY MEALS. A GREAT
BIG THANKS to those who participated.
Volunteers from a wide area packed about
140,000 meals on Sunday, and these meals
will be shipped to Haiti as part of disaster
relief. These shipments would not be
possible without the support of our donors
and volunteers.

BABY LOSS MEMORIAL

Faith Regional Health Services, Norfolk, is
offering a Baby Loss Memorial for parents
who have experienced the loss of a child.
This is an opportunity for parents to share
their story and connect with others who
know similar loss. You are invited to bring
pictures and mementos to share at the
ceremony. This service will be held
on Sunday, December 11 at 7 p.m. If you
are interested, or plan to attend, please RSVP
by calling 402-644-7559 on or
before November 21.
